Hi there!

I'm really considering buying a Line 6 pcoket POD, but I'm not quite sure yet. This video really blew me away: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqNoB5vnjJI...feature=related espicially the Pink Floyd sound was cool, but what is your opinion on this device? Worth buying?

Thanks alot!

Hello, I have apocketpod, and you can read my review here, hope it helps you!

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/wiki/index.php/Pocketpod

Personally I would go for a pandora px4d or px5d if I were you, they provide backings to jam along, pitch changes, etc. And the px5d even allows recording!, but they are a bit more expensive.

Be sure to check them out before you make a decision.

Another gadget you may like is Toneport GX or any other of the Toneport family, they are used to record using a computer (Can't be used without a computer), but if you will play next to your PC then you can use them as FX units, and pretty powerful at that.

Many options, but better check them all out before you decide!

A lot of people here uses POD's and always has good comments.

For the price it's very nice device...

If you need something more serious look at korg pandora or bosss gt10 pedal.

I own a Toneport GX and it's quite good...

Cheers mate!

I've no experience with it. But by the sound of it the presets sound really cool.

Just a little tip about the pandora PX5d, i'm not that happy with about 80% of the presets, maybe its my guitar- but still. I find that to make it sing you have to spend a fair bit of time dialing in your own tone. Luckily- Muris shared his pandora setting so my sound is based almost entirely off his (with a few tweaks here and there). The USB audio interface makes recording quite easy too, also you have a built in metronome, tuner, jam tracks (very basic sounding, but can be edited with the software provided) and also a song mode (almost identical to the jam tracks, haven't explored it too much). Also 4 "hot" keys on the front make it easy to navigate to your 4 favourite presets.

Another thing i dislike about the PX5d is that the treble, bass, gain and volume knobs (they are literally wheels at the top) dont save their settings to your saved presets. So for example if i want gain set to 5 for one setting and 7 for another setting, ill have to do it maually after i switch presets. Which doesnt sound like to big of a deal, buit it is when you play with 3 settings and like the gain, treble, bass and volume different for each.

Anyhow, theres me rambling on about the pandora in a POD thread, try test them both out at a store or something- i'm sure if you prefer a more expensive one it'd be worth saving up the cash.

Its a cool device , but what gear do you have (guitar, amp) and what you expect from a pod to do ?

I'm thinking of getting one of these today... Pocket Pod

For use at practice. We do a decent amount of playing/practicing via headphones. So something direct I can throw in a bag is nice.

I hate taking my entire rack over there for the GSP-1101..... I don't think I need to sink $200-$500 into something really high end for just practice like this.... If I need all that I'll lug my main rig over there....
