Hey how's it going everybody. I'm from Canada and have never picked up a guitar always wanted to but thought it was to hard, went out bought my first one and guess what.....it is. It's really frustrating I don't even know how to read music let alone play it. I have had music in my family growing up dad played the drums ......no offense I hate the drums. There always been that passion when I hear a song with a screaming guitar in it, that makes me want to pick one up and give it a try but I have no idea, if any one out there can steer me it the right direction it would mean alot. I've never been a quitter and I really don't want to start now. Thanks Everybody unsure.gif

Welcome to GMC

I know how it is starting off. It's so frustrating not being able to get what you want to hear right away but practice makes perfect. To your problem with reading music got to the video lessons then go to the theory lessons and theres something that teaches you how to read music.

Well anyway again welcome to the GMC family

Welcome to GMC. You don't have to read music to play guitar, just need to know how to read a guitar tab (or even play by ear). All that you need to know can be found at GMC. And if you're unsure about anything just post your question to the forum. Good luck.

Welcome mate, there's a couple of things that you should check. On the main page, there are beginner planner that can guide you to total beginner lessons. Also you have the search option for whatever you feel you wanna know.

If you don't find anything feel free to ask something specific so we can answer it, and help you mate. Cheers smile.gif

Welcome roggie!!!!!

Great to see another canuck join the best guitar site on the web smile.gif Jerry posted two very helpful links there to get you started and the lesson planner on the main page may be of benefit to you as well. I know how frustrating it can be just starting out but you have certainly found an excellent support base here my friend. Everyone here is great and very helpful so if you have any questions about anything just fire away. Keep us updated on your progress and I look forward to seeing you around the forum.
