Practice Agendas - Competition!

It's time for a new competition, and this time it's about getting the highest ranked Practice Agenda!
It will last one month as usual, and you have a chance to win some great prizes.

And now to the best part of the competition, the prizes smile.gif

Attached Image

First Prize: Logitech QuickCam® Pro 9000 (read more about it HERE!)

Attached Image

Second Prize: Set of two (2) Guitar Grimoires (read more about it HERE!)

Attached Image

Third Prize: John Petrucci Rock Discipline DVD (read more about it HERE!)

In the 4 weeks the competition lasts you'll have to post at least three (3) new entries to your Practice Agenda each week.
That makes a minimum of twelve (12) total, which shouldn't be hard at all.

The thing is, you have to make those entries awesome as we will monitor the competitors "fame" if you will.
The winner will be chosen by who has the highest ranking Practice Agenda based on different aspects of the Agendas.
And again, ONLY the members with three (3) or more entries each week during the set time will be ranked in this competition!

We will start a thread for people who want to enter - you must post a link to your agenda, and the current number of views that it has at the beginning of the competition - this number will be factored out of your viewing score as the competition progresses so that only new views will be taken into account.

A big part of the competition will be promotional activities around your agendas - feel free to post announcements, links etc to keep people aware of your updates, but please keep these to the competitions board.

We will have a leaderboard as for the wiki contest, and it will be found, as before on the front page of the wiki - here!

Of course we would like as many of you as possible to join in the competition fun -
if you haven't started your own agenda yet, this is what you do!

1. From the Forum Home Page click on the "Practice Agendas" link, just under the main GMC banner.
On that page, click on "Create Practice Agenda"
2. Accept the Terms & Conditions (if you agree to them!) and click on "Next"
3. Fill in a name and subtitle for your agenda and hit "Finish"

4. You will then have access to a new section on the left of your control panel - click on "Your Practice Agenda",
and you will be taken to a page where you can add entries by clicking on the "Entries" menu and selecting "Add Entry" -
from that point on it is just like writing a post on the forum!

5. Your entry will only be viewable by others (and go live on the main page) when you have clicked "Entry Options" (lower left corner) and then "publish".

Rules:

1. All contestants must have three (3) or more new entries each week during the length of the competition.
2. Entries must be good biggrin.gif
3. Initial top 5 will be chosen by number of views of their agenda
4. Final winner will be chosen by an open GMC poll
5. All entries must be finished by August 15th, voting will be for one week after that date
6. Anyone suspected of artificially boosting their number of views will be disqualified
7. The Judges Decision is Final
8. No Cash or alternative prizes will be offered
9. In the event of a tie, a tiebreaker activity will be employed to break the deadlock.

Advice to make your Agenda popular! (edit by kris)

Would be of good use to get me properly started on my Practice Agenda. I don't think I'll participate though :/

Besides, I just bought the Pro 9000 myself! tongue.gif

Hey excellent idea, in fact i was going to write a practice agenda today anyway but now this is here more reason to do so. Few questions though. When you say 3 entry do you mean sort of like 3 brand new topics or do you mean make a practice agenda and add comments to it? Perhaps i'm misudnerstanding how practice agendas work. I know they are to show people how and what you are practicing but errr how? lol

Not the comments - I am quite sure Audiopaal is asking for a minimum of three entries/updates/brand new topics!

It's great to see we have already got some people in the competition biggrin.gif

mmm well, I join in this competition but as you know I don't write there the exercises than I'm playing. I'm using the practise agenda like a Recording agenda, and that's because I'm studing different configurations in my home studio and try some gear, I'm still waiting my Bogner Clone Preamp, a good mic and some pedals... and I'm studing hard mastering and mixing, and working a lot with VSTs and software.

So I'd like to be sure that my practice agenda and I (tongue.gif) can take part in this competition smile.gif
