Hi Muris,

I have a couple of drum vst demos, I know you use Addictive and I am seriously considering buying it. I am a beginner at recording and know nothing about midi. When you record the drums do you use a midi keyboard or do you do something else? Also I hear people tab out the drums, how do you do this, I mean i have seen it tabbed out in GP5 but I don't get how people know what numbers to put in order to get a specific sound? I am trying to record your lydian exercises and would like to create a similar drum beat so maybe you can possibly direct me on how you did it in Addictive that would be great. PS I am really enjoying all your lessons.

thx
Joe

Hi Joe. smile.gif

Yes you're right,I use exclusively Addictive Drums,
best drums VST I've heard so far!

To record(program) drums I do not use keyboard whatsoever,
I draw everything and I got quite used to it.

Now about tabbing drums and GP.
Once you have your drums programed in DAW(cubase or whatever)
it would be all in Midi file.
Then you just export that file and import in into GP.
General Midi setting has drum sound on 10th channel usualy
so you might try with 10th channel in GP when assign sounds to certain track.

Hope this helps a little. smile.gif

OK I think I understand, so you "draw" the midi in the DAW program. Is this similar to that Fruity Loops tutorial we have in the video lessons where the instructor makes a beat?

I haven't tried Fruity Loops so I'm not able to compare it
but drawing is probably the best way to create unique drum lines,
after real drummer of course. smile.gif
