Hey gmc, I am ahving trouble when I am doing fast scale runs and such. When I am using scales that have 3 notes per string per box, my ring finger always wants to go down with my pinky. And with this, I can never do any perfectly executed runs. Is there any type of exercise that could get rid of the problem. mellow.gif

I think Pavel has some kind of alternate picking lesson that also incorporates some excercises for just that. Unfortunately I don't remember what it's called dry.gif

Mine does too, but not so far that it touches the strings.
Anyway, the answer here is obviously stretching excersizes. Not on the guitar, but solely in your hand.
Don't overdo it though, or you might not play guitar in a long time!!!!!

You should work only on index-middle-pinky patterns up and down in slow motion. Practicing this after a few days will diminish the problem.

you should try the exercise given by pavel in his alternate picking 1 lesson. it's explained in the 2. video i guess, before he describes the sequence.

great exercise, it really helps increasing your stamina, accuracy and strength of you pinky. smile.gif
