Hello again XD

I realize I'm asking a lot of bridge questions tongue.gif

Is there a majpr difference between then Edge Pro tremolos and the "Lo TRS" bridges?

Also, while I am thinking about it, is there some resource somewhere that has, say, a chart or something that shows interchangeable tremolos? XD

For example> Switching an Ibanez Edge Pro II with either a Lo TRS or an Edge Pro III

Why do you wanna switch your edge pro 2? they're all good trems.
Anyway, I dunno what Lo TRS is. short for?

The bridge on an ibanez RG (not sure exactly what model) I was just given a few days ago split in two (jaw-dropping experience). It was an Edge Pro II. Now I want to replace it, but I'm looking at all my options.

I believe Lo TRS is another name for "Low Profile"? Correct me if I'm wrong anybody tongue.gif

WHAT?!

Dude, reclamation! this is rubbish. Did you buy the guitar new? if so, go pwn them, and make them repair the guitar.

Edit: and if not, go for the newest Edge. You can see which one's the newest on Ibanez.com

I recieved it as a gift from a friend tongue.gif
And his warranty has long since been expired :[

So am I to guess that the Low Profile bridge wont be an option for replacement?

Buy an Edge Pro III, it's well invested money.

And honestly, I don't know. I'd have to see it. Post some good picks at all angles, with measurements.

Would you say an Edge Pro is significantly better than the ZR-2 bridges they are putting in now?

Maybe check the floyd rose wiki, it contains some of these bridges as well. Maybe it can help?

Never tried a lo trs myself, but I've heard that they're piss poor trems and should be avoided at all costs.

Edit: Here's a page showing the interchangeability of different Ibby trems and the OFR. The text is in Italian, but the pics alone tells the story pretty well.

According to Ibanez, Edge-Zero is a merger between their ZR (Zero Resistance) bridge and the Edge Pro.
Higher end RGs features that. smile.gif

The Ibanez S series sports the new ZR-2 bridge. smile.gif

Edge is derived from Floyd Rose and is similar in operation.
ZR is derived from Edge, but is similar to a Kahler.
ZR is smoother, Edge more agressive.

The ZR trem sounds like a great improvement, and the ball bearing pivot is something I've always wondered why they don't implement.

"The difference between Edge Zero and ZR Trems is that ZR trems use ball-bearings for pivots, while the Edge uses the traditional knife edge. Over the course of playing, a knife edge may dull, resulting in declining tuning stability (although it takes a few years for knife edges to dull enough to cause a problem, and they can be sharpened fairly easily)."
