Of course!

QUOTE (Daniel Robinson @ Jul 28 2008, 03:11 AM) *
Hey Andrew i definately want in.

My question is how over the top you want the arrangement to be, i have been messing around with your prelim track and i have some rhythmic ideas. Nothing really crazy just oranamentation type rhythm that follows the main theme.

I think between Marcus, Jerry, and myself we could pin the rhythm guitars down thru the whole track. Of course thats your call.

If you want to hear some of the ideas i have let me know.

Daniel

You are in!

I would love to hear your ideas and throw them around - the idea I think should be that we start fairly traditionally, but by the end we are absolutely crazy, maybe using a couple of different scales or modes. I definitely think that changing the rhythm around or ornamenting it will be a great way to build the track as well to keep the excitement high as this will probably be a fairly long version smile.gif

QUOTE (Gerardo Siere @ Jul 27 2008, 08:13 PM) *
Thanks, personally I prefer that you guys chose the arrangement and then ask for some organs or another midi stuff where you find it suitable, It would be help full that some text is explaining what kind of expresion or sound we are lookin on, Ive just use this stuff to manage some vsti for when recording for other people and I could really get lost here, thanks.

Makes a lot of sense Gerardo - we'll let the arrangement crystalise a little and then figure out what keyboard we need smile.gif

Well, I'll wait until everyone has had a chance to volunteer, then I'll take a stab at parceling out the different parts when I know what we have to work with - some parts will be able to be recorded right away but others we may need to think about a little more - for instance, the guitar solos are easy to record right away, but Bogdan needs to know the overall arrangement before he does thge bass. We also need to figure out some of the ruythm guitar parts and modulations before we record that as well. It will be a little slow to start with until we figure it out, but then it will go pretty quickly smile.gif

This gonna be a great collab for sure. biggrin.gif

Andrew Can I Play Drums for the track?

I have a great drum kit and roland TD7 drum machine.

I can also contribute with a multi pad track as I have a Roland SPD 20.

I think it's best to record my track last and you guys can record your guitar tracks without relying on me.

I am a little afraid to get that Risk smile.gif

What do you think?

Ok Andrew here is some of the idea's i was messing with yesterday, its by no means perfect i just thru this together half awake. But you can get an idea.

The first time thru the verse i do this just 1 string rhythm thing, the second time thru i am just plucking a sustained chord, it kinda counterpoints what the organ is doing, the third time thru was just an idea i had as i was recording.

Daniel

Wow, didn't know you played the drums Vinod smile.gif Do you have a midi drum setup or real drums? If midi that would be cool as I was planning to use my new Superior 2.0 drum plugin for this and you could send just send me the Midi. I'd prefer to not just get a stereo track for the drums as it really limits the mixing options.

Some great ideas here Daniel - this is the kind of funky stuff we can add to build the track at different points, and also to keep it a little less sparse than the original, after all we are a guitar website! So, I think your part in the collab is cemented at least - if you can give me that kind of rhythm all the way through, I can bring it in and out as needed. We also have Liam and Marcus on the rhythm - how would you guys like to split it? How about we do 2 completely separate rhythm tracks - that traditional riff and pann it left and right for a fuller sound?

Real Drums sad.gif I can Only give you the stereo track Andrew.

You can send me the final mix file and Then I can Play over it and send you the file.So you can mix it with other tracks so that your mixing  don't rely on me.

If this is confusing Just forget it.

I think Andrew thought of MIDI drums as MIDI tracks that you can dial in, and send him the MIDI so he can assign it to his Superiour VST. That is only way to go IMO, because Andrew is responsible for the final mix and he needs all drums components in sepparate tracks so he can mix them properly.

I can definately do that Andrew, once the final arrangement of the track is designed i will do my bit, its hard to say what exactly its going to sound like yet. But for starters i can do what i have there.

If you plan on changing modes or scales i will need to hear it first before i decide on a good thing to do.

Exactly right Ivan - for the mix to sound its best I need to be able to separate out all of the different drums, get the levels and effects right etc.

This thread is getting really cool! biggrin.gif Perhaps we should move it to the open board? (or maybe you were planning a new one there?)

By the way Maria and I just checked and it seems Gthis key works great for both of us! smile.gif
