Im reall thinking about getting Cubase, my peice of crap Cakewalk software is just getting annoying.

Right now I use Guitar Tracks Pro 3 after I saw someone using it, it was ny first "good" (use that loosely) software and I wasted 99USD on it, needless to say I'm pretty angry.

SO can anyone tell me a bit more about Cubase.

It is kind of A class standard(others are:Pro Tools,Logic,Nuendo....)except that Nuendo is the same thing as Cubase(Steinberg manufacture them bout)commands are the same,interface...etc,only difference is that Cubase's purpose is directly connected with music production(witch does not stop every studio to use Nuendo, witch is multimedia DAW(video and audio))
Cubase/Nuendo use VST(Virtual Studio Technology) format for midi and plugins,it is very easy to use after a while(but not that easy,it is professional tool),I will say 2 weeks to learn the basic stuff a bout it(Tutorials are a great in that matter).
Editing of audio and midi are not difficult, and every thing else(the sound) depends on sound card,guitar..etc.
So I would recommend Cubase as a main DAW for recording and editing music files, and production tool.

I used Logic for many years and liked it a lot, but when support for PC's ended I switched to Pro Tools, which is even better in my opinion, both are not free though. If you go for a Pro Tools M-Box version though the price is perfectly fine, you get a LOT of value for your money.
