No instructor has yet to make a video on how to think, and being that we get all our life's lessons from GMC.... *sigh*

I voted Ivan though, as he is always posting whenever I ask for help on writing solos.

GMC is too awesome at times.

This is a really great idea Kris, but did you have to make it so hard to choose? My brain officially hurts now huh.gif

This is very hard as all have great forum presence and give out such excellent advice, not to mention just being great people too. I mean they all give up big chunks of time to participate on the forum, answering questions, giving opinions and just being supportive to the members here. Oh the pressure to choose... OK by process of einy, meiny, miney, moe, as I could not really choose, I have voted for Muris smile.gif He's always there if you need him and I know he has given me some excellent advice on his lessons.

But all deserve recognition for their overwhelming support to not just us students but to making GMC the wonderful community that it is. Keep up the great work guys and I hope you know how much we students of GMC love you all wub.gif

I voted fro Muris. I am new to the forum, but he has already helped me a lot. He has made me confident that signing up here was a good idea as I not only get awesome video lessons, but that also the instructors are friendly, approachable and happy to help.

And thanks to all instructors as everyone seems great smile.gif

I think that you should have allowed, say three picks.

Can't see Trond with only 1 vote, he is here a lot. But that is to be expected with the one pick format, considering Muris and Ivan are so prolific, that nearly everybody will pick one of them given only one pick. If you don't, I don't know what you are thinking. Muris get's into nearly every thread of merit, and most often Ivan does to. Now if we had three picks, we would see Trond, and others given recognition they deserve, who are not quite like Ivan or Muris in this respect, but still here a lot!

I agree completely, choosing only one person from a list of instructors that are all helpful and willing to share in the forum turned out to be very difficult. Everyone does! I just picked the name that came to me first, it's Ivan who's very helpful and he has both a wide and deep knowledge about so many subjects.

Like fkalich I have more votes that I'd like to give, two or three extra.

This one is impossible for me. I mean, take Muris, a really down to earth guy with great knowledge and a good way of expressing himself. He devotes a lot of his spare time to us members here and I really noticed the difference from the GMC before Muris to the GMC after Muris arrived. He helps us getting custom guitars at a rip off price tongue.gif He showed us the LIGHTPICK!!! he explains problems within music theory from the beginning if necessary and he's always patient and every post is in good manner.

Ivan doesn't make many lessons in my taste but I can definitly see that they're high quality. He also, exactly as Muris, explains how things are done. He solves twists in our head when it comes to theory and he's always humble and friendly minded. He devotes a lot of time in the collaboration section and uploads section critzising, giving tips, helping etc.

I've made two topics in Tronds instructor board. One time I uploaded a take the first part of his stringskipping lesson. The second time I requested a lesson or serie of lessons on making backgrounds. The first time he told me what he liked about the take and that he was waiting for me to upload the whole song, unfortunately I haven't been able to do that due to the fact that I'm in Norway tongue.gif The second reply I cannot remember but I can surely see the result. I haven't seen Trond giving away advice outside of his section here at GMC but when he does, it's ALWAYS! good quality and posted in good manner.

what can I say? I used a classical Swedish rhyme: Ole Dole Doff, Kinke Lane Koff, Koffe Lane Binke Bane, Ole Dole Doff, starting at Muris. Ended on Muris. But then I realized that it consists of 13 words meaning that if you have 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 contestants, you're going to end up on the one you started on. But... I already voted. Congratz Muris tongue.gif

Ok - I think this poll has served its purpose - and I must say it went very well! smile.gif

I can't stress enough how impressed I am with our community - the nature of this topic could have led to missunderstandings. The purpose was never to bash anybody - but to give you guys a chance to affect our community ( did someone mention democracy... unsure.gif )

...and so you did in an admirable way - in spite of the obvious limitations of presenting this kind of thing in our current poll format!

You guys ROCK!! laugh.gif
