I tried it on my local store (super champ), and the cleans are nice, as usual with fender. The effects are a bit digital, so I guess I wouldn't use them much though. I miss a 12'' speaker on this one, but it can be hooked to an external cab and it sounds awesome through a 2x12.

Good bang for the cash. But I don't know if it would handle high gain stuff.

This is a very cool amp, modern and great for practice. I would definitely buy it if I would consider to have a fender amp any time in the future.

I tried several small tube amps about two weeks ago and I was also playing this little fellow but i wasn't too impressed... It's a great blues amp for home use but nothing more and the effects are just cheap.
The 15watt amp that surprised me the most was the orange tiny terror, holy **** what a little beast! The Tiny terror can do all the sounds the super champ can + really dirty rock sounds and even brutal high gain stuff. It cost almost twice the money the super champ costs but it offers three times the sound.

The tiny terror is a great amp for sure, im just really not into British voiced amps. I had the Vox AC15 and I REALLy did not like it.

I play alot of high gain stuff, which the Pod does well. But what I would really like is someone running 6L6 or 6V6 tubes.

I know Mesa Boogies are well out of my reach, so im guessing it would have to be a fender of some sort. Im really not sure why they put EL84 tubes in a fender blues junior, arnt these british voiced tubes?

I have the 15 watt version the super champ xd and it's a great practice amp, it's way too loud for home use actually, I never get it past 3 haha
The effects are just OK, and it's not meant to be a high gain amp, but if you are looking for an amp with the fender tone and want to play up to hard rock it's a great amp for the money
I wasn't too impressed with a lot of the voicings, especially the high gain ones but a few of them especially the blackface are quite authentic
And just a side note, it actually sounds good with a EH Metal Muff on the clean channel

EL84 is a bit to the british sound yeah. But it's rather popular in all kind of brands where you want 15, 30 or 5 watts.
But if you like the american tone better it's smarter to go for something with 6L6 or 6V6 in it like you suggest.
