Hi everybody,

I'm probably going to buy an epiphone les paul custom off a guy today for a pretty good price. My only concern is that it is a domestic model i.e. comes with cheaper finishing. Does anybody know the signs to look for to ensure it's an export model?
thx

No worries I ended up getting it, verified the serial # I guess it was made in 2003 in Korea.
I got the alpine white model, only $400 CDN with a hard shell case, I guess that would be just under $400 USD.

I don't know, but it is more important to check the guitar and see how it sounds and feels. If it sounds good and feels right, who cares if it's from Africa or USA? smile.gif

I don't really care where my guitars come from, how old they are, I only care about their sound and how it feels to play them.

For sure, I was just concerned because there are a lot of fakes that do not use the same quality of finishing which can be difficult to determine, and even if the guitar looks/sounds/feels great, if breaks down in a year it is not very worthwhile
Epiphone apparently has more fake guitars than real ones out in the marketplace, if you go on Ebay you can always find dozens of fakes
