For us struggeling in the cheap guitar swamp there are a few Epiphone models that look appealing to me now.

For the money, I think it's worth the $$$ since they include one or two goodies per model. Maybe Prophecy is more appealing in Europe than in the US where f.ex the SG Prophecy would compete with ESP LTD Viper 400. In Europe that Viper cost twice as much as the Epi while they both seem to be equaly "metal"
Interesting with Epiphone taking it's own steps here.

LP with Dirty Fingers pu's

Maple tops, 24 jumbo frets and Epi-straplocks.
I judge it to be a lot of heavy metal for less cash. My favourite, the SG EX with active pu's biggrin.gif

I've recently played the Prophecy Sg with Emgs and I have to say you get a lot of bang for the buck. 440 Euros for an Epiphone Custom quality Sg with 24 frets, original emg 81/85 active humbuckers, straplocks and the thinnest and fastest neck ever built into a Epiphone guitar.

They certainly have good features for such a price, for example the mahogany body and a good pair of pickups.

Thanks for the info! smile.gif

I'm curious about the dirty fingers (actual gibson pickups), apparently they have a switch where they can work as humbucker or single coil. And I prefer the finish on those ones too. The EMG ones look sweet too, the prophecy line was given a gold award in the latest Guitar World magazine.

I played the red Futura. That thing is sweet. I love it! i am totally buying one. The Emgs are sooooo sick and the nick is so easy to shred with. it has a good weight and looks amazing. A definite buy.

Nice video, thanks for sharing. I'd like a guitar with actice pups some day, and these new epis might do the trick, they look good and sound good, the LP or the SG with EMGs are really interesting.

I'm in the same position as I do not need to spend big bucks with this being a hobby compared with small things like grocery's and mortgage payment's.....

The red Futura is the one that I've been eyeing for a week or so. I was wondering about the neck on it. I always liked the SG's but have gotten to wonder about the neck joint on them.

Thanks for the thread and info especially the video link. That guy makes them sound ok on some licks. Wonder how long it took him to get those down..... smile.gif
