Well the Mesa Boogie lonestar is my DREAM amp biggrin.gif I have looked at just about every amp going recently and nothing compares. I am going to buy the Mesa Boogie Express 5:50 which is a bit cheaper (not much) as soon as I have the cash.

Im sorry to say you may be hard pressed to find something with a similair voice on a budget. But the Fenders have a similair voice and sound great, but they do not do high gain very well.

regards

I don't know what that express costs but as it is a boogie it must be expensive wink.gif i'd say a Fender Supersonic would be nice to look at it has plenty of distortion alot more then you would expect from a Fender and if it does not have enough you could always get a Boss Metal zone or Metal core to get the distortion you like smile.gif Here is a video review by world music supply of the Supersonic:

good call on the supersonic, that's a really nice amp with vibrolux and bassman to boot
it does have a quite a bit of distortion for a fender
