Hey Muris! smile.gif

I recently read your review on the Pandora PX4D, and I noticed that you commented on how the stereo/mono effect is affected by the cable.

I've got a Korg AX1500G multi-effects board...Not the best out there at all, I know. smile.gif But I've never been fully satisfied with it either, because the sound from it is very mono-like and undynamic. Does this have anything to do with my cables not being stereo jacks?

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

You proc has 2 mono outs - L and R. You connect these on the stereo speakers set (left and right speaker respectively) and you will have stereo image. i don't know how Pandora works, but I'm sure Muris has experience with stereo effects so he can elaborate.

Hi Seagull. smile.gif

Problem with PX4D is that it has only one output and it's stereo output.
So when you plug mono cable you don't get only left or right side if image
but you get kind a stereo but all pressed in the middle of picture,
which really sounds awkward.
Your Korg AX1500G has 2 outputs as far as I can see
so you need 2 mono cables,
then you plug them into your audio card using two inputs on card
or straight in speaker monitors. smile.gif

Yeah alright. It's just that the sound is kindda "closed" and undynamic, and I was wondering if it was because I've never tried the stereo effect. You think it would help on the sound? Because I've read a lot of reviews of other people who have the board too, and they're an awfully lot more satisfied with it than I am. smile.gif

So if you think it could help the quality of the sound I will try it! smile.gif

Well effects surely cannot bring more dynamic into sound,
it's related to preamp and how healthy is gain stage.
But they can offer "nicer" sound for sure,
and even that can cause you "the feel" of more dynamic,
so try it in stereo, you have nothing to loose indeed, only to gain. smile.gif
