QUOTE ("Steve Vai")
Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

Pretty good list in my opinion, although I'd switch a few of the names around wink.gif

They've added some very good names.

As said before, They should mix a few names around. But you can be certain They've been very influential. They missed some others though unfortunately. But as it is more rock orientated I can accept it.

I really wonder what such a list would look like in 10 years from now and see who entered the list then smile.gif

I think it's a pretty accurate list, except for one, very important detail you seem to have overlooked: There's no Paul Gilbert in there! mad.gif Seriously, that's a great list, except for the noticeable absence of PG.

It's hard to believe Satriani, Chuck Berry, Buckethead, Paul Gilbert, BB King are not in the list, but I guess no list is perfect for everyone's taste. I don't know many of the names in that list though, so I should check them out. Maybe they are awesome!

Some guitarists in that list are certainly important but not as much for their guitar playing than for the band/group or composing habilities they have.

Pi38-I didn't make this list, a local radio station made it. I
agree Gilbert is great but not sure his music is considered
classic rock yet smile.gif I posted the list because I think the names
need to be slightly re-adjusted I sent an email to them about it
and was looking for input from all of you so I had some ammo
when they respond

I tried to rack my brain around how this list was compiled
most influencial? most hits? most accurate? greatest technique?
nothing jives the order in my opinion!!

Not a bad list actually imo anyways.

Like most there are a few names I'd switch around but all in all not bad. I think this is the first time I've actually seen Lindsey Buckinghams name on one of these lists (although I may be wrong and just don't recall) and that impresses me. Lindsey for me is highly underrated and should get more attention.

yea I agree with the majority here, some very influential players in the list some I`d change around maybe, like Skenny, RR at 41 ohmy.gif laugh.gif , no Gary Moore which suprised me a little too, but hey smile.gif
