The Reverse Engineer
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Fallen from the sky
Mystic artifacts to distant life
Organic computers, Shifting shape shifting forms
Unlocking the secrets to space and time
I am the collector of all things alien
Of all things unknown and all things abstract
If it does not exist or cannot be built
I am its owner, I am its builder
I am the reverse engineer

Dissecting further
Probing deeper
To some madman’s tranquility
Pushing the limits of what man should know
He holds the universe in the palm of his hand
Some say he is from another dimension
Some say he has seen the edge of space
Some say he constructs what cannot be conceived
This knowledge perceived as gift
Seems to be this mans curse

Found beneath mother earths bosom
Ancient machines for biomechanical order
Computers for recreating what God has done
AI to replace any and all deities
With cold hard logic and reason
The light shines down as my syringe creeps closer
I must know where it all began
I must surpass the knowledge of even God

E=mc², Flawed in so many ways
With what this man has discovered
With what this man has become
The earth is no longer a holder of life
No longer the bearer of intelligent thought

I have broken all rules
I have redefined the scope of knowledge
I have re-sculpted the texture of science
I have become, Even more than God
I have shown the world we are not alone
I have shown us all, Who we really are
Specs in the spectrum

We are watched, We are controlled
But I shall defy, I shall defy....

The madman’s words spun out incoherently
Yet we all, Subconsciously agreed
We are ants in this world
And someone is raising the magnifying glass
Who Is watching, Who is waiting?

This one is inspired by the book by Alastair Reynolds called "Century Rain" and yet has nothign to do with it. Its about a man who collects strange artifacts that have been dug up or have fallen from space, reverse engineers them, and through this he learns everything about the world, the universe, and life....Even the existence of something some would call a god.

Its structured kinda weird cause I wrote while I was driving on the interstate, I had nothing to write it down with so i had to keep it in text format on my phone laugh.gif

Interesting. At first I was a little confused. It seemed as if he was taking things from Real Life and Reversing them , thats what I thought It meant at first. Almost like he was going against gods will in a way.

I liked, didnt love it , but it was very fun to read. The confusion that you spoke of in the bottom part does shine through a bit but I did enjoy it and it was a Nice Lyric biggrin.gif
