So Dean quit Dean a while ago, now he has a new company! There are a couple models shown, but I personally don't find them very appealing(Kinda Dean+Bernie Rico jr.???), but it's way too early to make any judgments. All I can say is that I'm very curious as to how this turns out. And the fact that people are gonna get these guitars mixed up with Dragonball Z is gonna be pretty funny! It actually has lots of nice little features, but looks wise, I'd say it looks like Dean Guitars forum #2. Quote from Dean Z on his forum: " want to personally thank each and every one of you for coming in and visiting DBZ Guitars. The launch Tuesday August 26th was huge with our website seeing numbers that I could only imagine. I know first hand what it takes to build web traffic, I just built one of the biggest in this industry the past 8 years What is DBZ Guitars all about? Well, simply, its a new DAY...not only for me but for all of us. In an industry driven by product endorsement and a lot of hype, you rarely find innovation or attention to the instrument rather than the marketing. My focus, our focus, is on the instrument. In my opinion, it’s time for a shot in the arm to the world of guitars. So my idea is to do for guitar players what the custom bike builders have done for motorcycle enthusiasts. What will you see from us? DBZ Guitars are going to be a lot more 3 dimensional. We are bringing new technology into guitar building like nobody has seen to date. The graphic technology and concepts I have developed for this new venture will be second to none and finally, Exotic Woods like never seen before. Then we must talk about Quality. Not only will our USA made guitars be of the highest quality level (like my original guitars of the late 70s and 80s) but even our import guitars will be produced at unparalleled import quality. Just because you don’t have the money for a custom guitar doesn’t mean you should be getting short changed. . .Every guitar player is a part of this industry and we all deserve to have an instrument that speaks to us. You will experience it here at DBZ Guitars. Where are we headed? We all know that my roots with the metal community are deep going back to the early Iron Maiden days. Kerry King owned one of my guitars even before his best friend made them famous. And my roots with the rock community go back even further building guitars for Billy Gibbons, Kerry Livgren, Elliot Easton and countless others. DBZ Guitars will be deep with an array of models designed for all of Rock. Whether your choice of DBZ Guitar is metal, exotic, straight forward or elegant, the first test is quality. So that’s where we’re headed. Soon I will be introducing a model that I actually designed in the early 80s and never produced. It was conceptualized off the sound characteristics of the ML but shaped for the conservative guitar player. Diamond Finally, partnering with Jeff Diamant and Terry Martin on DBZ Guitars as well as now being an owner in Diamond Amplification is really a huge plus. I always wanted a boutique amp line to pair up with my boutique guitars and Diamond Amps are second to none. For those that don’t know, the “wow” factor I experienced when I first heard a Diamond is one I haven’t had in decades, and that’s what started my relationship with Jeff. I urge all of you to try one out. There’s a voicing in that line for you no matter what your sound. If you need help finding one, just email from the DBZ Guitars frontpage. What this industry is about is finding the guitar player his voice and image – it’s giving him or her the tools you need to find your tone and experience what guitar playing can be like when it all comes together. A relationship between Jeff and I, in my eyes, was a real opportunity to do just that. I’m having more fun now and I’m more excited than at any point in my career –rivaling when I saw my first guitars, 30 years ago, getting in the hands of some of the world’s finest guitar players. I want all of you, who are all a part of our family and this community, to be able to share my feelings. I want to thank you for all your support for the past 30 plus years. All I can say at this point is I hope you will stay tuned in this forum and fasten your seatbelt. . . it’s gonna be quite a ride! Dean B. The first thing I though was "Dragonball Z", and I instantly sent the link to a friend of mine who's a fan
I don't think it'll be something "special", really. But I like Dean guitars, and I'll problaby like these as well =) The logo looked kickass, though! -------------------- GMC is not just a website... It's a lifestyle!
