It is possible that you haven't quite used to pinching on your new set of strings. I suggest you put some effort in practicing pinched on a new set, and if that doesn't work, just don't take that set of strings anymore. Maybe it's a worse set for pinching than the previous one.

You definitely don't need old strings to get pinch harmonics, this also has to work with brand new ones, so this can't be the reason. I agree with Ivan here, keep pracicing them on those strings, and if for whatever reason you can't get them, then go for different strings next time, but as I said, it should work.

Or stick with these strings, as otherwise you have to 'relearn' it on the old brand as well

I think it is possible that some string sets don't work well for pinching as some other strings sets, but in the end it is all a matter of getting a proper technique down.
