Why aren't you posting a soundfile?

Post one with a chord of all the open strings, and one with a openstring Emaj and one with an Gmaj chord.

Seems like your guitar is not set up right. I don't know how to say it in english but you guitar needs to be adjusted because the notes are off even if youre fretting the right note. A luthier can adjust this problem (propably a bridge or nech issue)

It could be that your tuner is, by accident, set at a wrong pitch. A has to be @ 440Hz, but could probably be set to anywhere between 435 and 445, which it shouldn't.

Besides that, it may be because your guitar is intonating badly - open string may sound fine, but when pressing down on a specific fret, it sounds off.

A sound clip would be nice though. smile.gif

Or your tuner may be mis-calibrated. Have you tried a different tuner? and make sure it's set at 440hz for standard tuning.

I've had the experience with the songs. It often meant I was playing the right chords, but not the same way as in the song. E.g I played an open G, while in the song they play the G with a bar on the third fret with an E shape!

Also what they said about the tuner to a wrong hz is prety possible smile.gif

some months ago i was really close to sending my guitar in for intonation. But i somehow realized that the tuner in my pod xt had the hertz turned down to 432. After adjusting it to 440 and retuning, it sounded better then ever =)

The same thing happened to me on several gigs, calibrating my tuner is not locked, so it is fairly easy to change the calibration, by simply pressing the buttons by mistake. The worse thing is when you tune to 438 or 436. You can hear that something is wrong, by don't know what. smile.gif
Well, just saying have to be careful next time, I check now calibration every time I tune.

It's weird how that happened.

My tuner (a Korg CA-30) sometimes ends up getting changed to a different fewquency for A. Too easy to bump the calibrate buttons I guess.

It happened to me also..Didn't notice it for weeks , it was 1-2 hz off..This is especially bad if you play in a band smile.gif
Now I check my calibration regularly because my tuner is in my pedal board so its easy to mess with without noticing it..

Just so that I get my point through - using an occasional "unallowed" word can result in a warning.

But disrespectful behaviour towards our moderators is quite a bit more serious - and definitely not an effective way of describing a guitar sound.
