I don't know how to say it in english but you guitar needs to be adjusted because the notes are off even if youre fretting the right note. A has to be @ 440Hz, but could probably be set to anywhere between 435 and 445, which it shouldn't. Besides that, it may be because your guitar is intonating badly - open string may sound fine, but when pressing down on a specific fret, it sounds off. A sound clip would be nice though. It often meant I was playing the right chords, but not the same way as in the song. E.g I played an open G, while in the song they play the G with a bar on the third fret with an E shape! But i somehow realized that the tuner in my pod xt had the hertz turned down to 432. The worse thing is when you tune to 438 or 436. You can hear that something is wrong, by don't know what. Well, just saying have to be careful next time, I check now calibration every time I tune. My tuner (a Korg CA-30) sometimes ends up getting changed to a different fewquency for A. Too easy to bump the calibrate buttons I guess.
