hey I was wondering if anyone knows of any good pickups(set of two) around the 150$ range.. I really like the sound of EMG's but they seem a bit expensive... oh and the guitar im putting em into is an ibanez rg.

i did find this set but its still expensive..
http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/pro...-Set?sku=300215

Active pickups are that expensive, it's the same with active Seymour Duncans...
I prefer Emgs over every other pickup but you might try the 85 in the bridge before you install it because not everbody likes it in the bridge. The standard 81/85 setup will do good in an RG. Check out Ebay, you can get a set for ~100$

I second to that, 130$ is very good price. Besides, they can damage easily so my guess they are in great condition as well.

this might be a dumb question but they look like they need batteries.. and the guy that is selling em says he does not have the extra cables and connectors..

Well,he doesn't need to have any extra cables,
he has to offer you cables and connectors he has already,
those are regular accessories for every active pickups.
Otherwise you might have problems to install it. unsure.gif

Do you have the link? EMG pickups are usually active and do need a battery to run, so you need to have a battery compartment somewhere in the guitar body.

I have the EMG set in my Epi Les Paul. Love it! Go for it! If you get the Zakk Wylde or Kerry King sets, it is cheaper than buying both individually, and comes with new pots, caps, wires, jack etc.

yea here it is...
http://cgi.ebay.com/EMG-81-60-or-81-85-com...id=p3286.c0.m14

i think my guitar has a compartment that would work, but as far as batteries go im not a big fan of having to worry about replacing them, which i imagine would be that case..
