Hey Players!

My name is Clancy and I am very excited about joining GMC! There is so much good stuff here, it is hard to know where to begin. I will start to figure that out over the next couple of days. I am thinking about starting with what the two new mentorees are working on. I am really interested in this program.

About me - I have been playing the guitar for several years now. However, I have historically only played for periods of three or so months at a clip. It goes something like this; play for three months and take the rest of the year off. I am sure that most of you will agree that using this method of learning will not lead to much progress.

This time has been different and I have been playing steadily for about one year. The progress has been great and things are starting to make sense and become much easier. My primary interest is blues music although I am starting to like the sound of jazz guitar as well. I am also a fan of rock music.

My goals -
1. Have fun!
2. Become comfortable playing in front of people.
3. Develop a repertoire of songs that I know from memory.
4. Be able to integrate rhythm and lead guitar into "songs" that I can play be myself, sort of a one-man front-porch jam.
5. Learn to play with others.
6. Learn some music theory.
7. Expose myself to differnet styles of music.

That is all for now!

Cheers!
Clancy
