I ordered some half dozen V-picks some while ago, loved the thick Diamond pick. Now I've lost all but one, even the $10 diamond I promised myself to be extra carful with dry.gif

I remember you mentioned what picks you were using in one of the vpick threads but I admit I'm too lazy to go look for it wink.gif It's time for me to try some new picks so I just wonder what brand you were using since I recall you said you were so satisfied with them.
And where to buy them?

Thanks! smile.gif

I'm using V-picks, a pick I made myself from an old CD, and a Dunlop Gator 2.0mm which I've named "Fat Joe" ^^
I used to use Jazz III's, but they were a bit too flexible for my taste.. I like picks when they're as stiff and unbendable as possible. ^^

Edit: Oh, sorry. Disregard this post. I saw this topic in the "Posts since your last visit", and didn't notice it was a question for an instructor laugh.gif

@ Canis: No problem, this forum is open for everybody, also my board wink.gif

About my picks, concerning v-picks I liked the screamer the most, a really great pick. But still my fave one is a stone pick, standard shape, about 2mm thick. The problem is, I bought this 20 years ago and I don't know any shop that still sells this pick, so I had some spare ones handmade by some guy that is specialized on making stone picks. He has a shop on ebay, but unfortunately I don't find the link to this shop anymore, otherwise I would post it here.

Aha stone(!!!) picks, so there was no brand that I seemed to recall wink.gif Thanks I'll try to look it up, sounds interesting.
I've also heard of brass picks and similar metal, think I will try brass aswell if I find it.

I tried all kinds of picks, the normal ones (jazz3, tortex, whatever...), metal picks, bone picks, but my fave one is this stone. It just delivers exactly the sound and attack that I want, it just does not wear out at all (and keep in mind I am using the very same pick since 20 years now) and it gives me the abolute control about the tone, what more could I ask for wink.gif

Is it rough stone, or is it smooth? I'm looking for stone picks as we speak, since I've worn down two V-picks in 2 months tongue.gif
Maybe a stone pick is the right investment tongue.gif

Lol, of course it is smooth, I didn't just grab any rock on the street, it is a "normal" pick, just made of stona, Achat as far as I know. And no, in the last 20 years this one didn't wear out a bit. I will take a pic later, so you can check it out.

Someone really tough, like Chuck Norris, would pick up a rock and split it in half with a karate chop and then play.
Or pull out a front tooth and use for pick. Chuck would punch a badguy and get his tooth that way.
