I don't know about you others, but I've been following some of the tips recommended in this thread. Like not taking the second takings of dinner I don't need, and exercising a couple of times a week.

Last time I checked in here:

I lost 20 kg last autumn and then I started to lift weights and excercise.
So from 78 kg -> 58 kg then up to 69 kg with training.

I was abit round :-D

What's most important is that you don't get back to old habits. If you start drinking light soda then keep on doing it til you're happy with how you look.

Here's what I look now (taken 2 months ago).

I lost 3 kg. smile.gif Actually, I didn´t read that much in this topic. I just read a post by Marcus who said:
QUOTE
I don't have much weight problems myself. But the first thing I do every morning when I wake up (sometimes even before I open my eyes), is to do 50 push-ups. biggrin.gif It gets me in a "healthy mood" for the rest of the day which makes me stay away from the vending machines!

I do every morning and every evening (or nearly! biggrin.gif) between 10-15 pushups and 25 situps. I try to do more and more of them. Also, I eat much less then usual. At the beginning of school, I ate nothing but dinner and maybe an apple. That was a bit too less, I know, but I wasn´t hungry. Now, I eat a bit more: an apple at school (and maybe a banana and a sandwich), at home dinner. And sometimes I go walking! But that´s really unusual! biggrin.gif

I haven't done as much as I should so far. I am only down 2 pounds. That's really nothing to measure though because weight can fluctuate up or down almost daily. So it's hardly a difference. But, I have cut back on the meal time portions.

Still need to do better.

yea i love them too tongue.gif But ive tried to stop..
Ive been on a good routine lately but ive been told by some people I'm overdoing it so i would like to hear GMC's opinion.

I've been going to the gym everyday. I start with 30 minutes of cardio on an elliptical trainer then i go to weights. I use machines and every other day i either work lower body + core and then on off days i work upper body + core.

Every day when i work upper body me and my friend go for about a 3km run. everyday when i work lower body i throw in an extra 20 minutes of cardio on a bike.

I eat mostly low fat foods ( alot of salad, chicken, high fiber cereals, pasta, potato's (baked not fried)). Lots of sandwiches. I drink only water, tea and coffee and i've cut back my beer consumption so i'm only drinking on weekends.

I seem to be really high disciplined this time around and im slowly loosing the fat that ive managed to keep and im slowly bulking up so my weight isn't changing.. any other suggestions.. also.. am i overworking myself? should i cut it back?

Seems to be a pretty good routine. Your body will let you know when you are overtrained. If you start feeling tired during your workouts, chances are good that you are over doing it. Split routine is good for bulking cycles. Really depends on the weight percentage you use and the number of reps.

Your body will adapt to a routine fairly quickly so change it up every 4 weeks or so. Try and consume at least a gram of protein and 1.5 grams of complex carbs per pound of bodyweight daily. (Some recommend twice this) If your not planning on entering a BB contest, then these numbers will work well.

Good luck! Sounds like you are doing well Smikey smile.gif

OK - I need to lose weight! I totally did it to myself too and now I'm sick of the way I feel. I admit it - I'm a freakin' slob! mad.gif I'm not really a big guy and I should be about 175 lbs for my size frame. I'm 5'10 and 200 lbs. My goal is to be about 175. I feel best at that weight.

I need some motivation. How can I get motivated to work out. How can I pass that stupid vending machine at my office?! unsure.gif

I lost 30lbs over this summer. The only way to lose weight is to watch your diet and exercise. And to lose weight you dont have to lift weight or do anything heavy. Lifting weights only helps you to build muscle and it doesnt really burn a significant amount of fat. Cardio is the best thing to do for this matter. I use to run 2 miles, 3-5 days a week. And really watched my diet. Its best if you can run or jog first thing in the morning before eating anything. But if you dont have enough time or a lazy person like me then anytime during the day is fine as long as you stay regular. Running in the morning helps best because you dont have anything in your stomach at that time and therefore, when you start running it starts to burn your carb deposit right away and then goes to your fat deposit(when you start to sweat).

Vending machines man, thats the worst thing for the healthy life. I use to carry protein bars with me to school and work so that i dont get tempted to use that vending machine when i get hungry.
