Just browse www.musiciansfriend.com and other sites in the US for a guitar you like. That's the best way I think for you to find what you're looking for.

You should also check out Epiphone guitars, they are the best copies of original Gibsons that you can get and most of their models are within your price range.

If you have stores in your neighborhood, then just go to the store, tryout several guitars and see what you like the best. But be sure to try lots of them in order to develop a feel for the quailty of the built, sound etc. When you find "the one", just tell your old man to get you that one is US.

You forgot to mention how long you play, what music, and what guitars you had prior to now. This could help a lot in focusing on some certain model for you.

If your dad is coming to Miami, check out Sam Ash at the Dolphin Mall, I have a brother that works there, he might be able to give you a discount.

Normally you wouldn't get a discount, but since you're a GMC member then... wink.gif

Just kidding a bit.. smile.gif

Regarding guitars.. what do you think about Ibanez and Epihone guitars?

Sellers can give some discounts to their buyers at Sam Ash, and I guess guitar center too, it won't be a huge discount but they can sell it for a little less than what is advertised.

the quality is terrible, and thats putting it nicely. most artist series deans are nice, if WAY overpriced, id avoid all Deans myself, theres alot better guitars for the price. Ibanez, ESP and Jackson are my favorite. you cant go wrong with most of those in your price range.

With guitars it is a matter of taste, I have played mexican strats that play awesome, and American that feel terrible in my hands, when it should be the opposite.

I love the Schecters , not every one, but there are some beatiful Scheter guitars with incredible detail that play great, for about $600. But like I said, they feel awesome in my hands a Gibson or Epiphone fan might find them uncomfortable.

in terms of quality, Yes, but its like Jose said, alot of it is personal preference, some might like a bolt on neck rather than a set neck, or small frets instead of extra jumbo. if you have anymore qeustions, ill be checking this thread over the next few days, were here to help!

VERY nice guitar, a steal at $600, just make sure you have a case to put it in, otherwise it could very likely get damaged on the flight home.
