I've always wanted to make my own short films to illustrate the feeling I get from certain songs. Taking up guitar give me the perfect opportunity. Here's the scene: I'm set up on the edge of the canyon where I live in New Mexico, and I'm playing a minimalist electric guitar part over a song that only has acoustic. The song was being played on the truck stereo with the passenger side door open. My guitar sounds like it's recorded direct but it's not, I had a Vox amp out of the picture, pointed away from me toward the open truck door. There's a Roland recorder on the box in front of me. You can hear a fly buzzing around it a couple of times.

This video demonstrates several things:
1. I am no shredder. wink.gif
2. I still need a lot of practice, but..
3. I've gone from Zero to something since joining GMC, notice I'm playing in 4 boxes. biggrin.gif

Since this involves a commercial recording, I can't upload it here, it's on my own server, so for those of you who might be interested, and feedback is welcome, visit this link and scroll down and choose a version. The sound is the same quality on both, but one has bigger and better picture quality. You will have to download, they do not stream.

Oh, and the song is "I Was a Cloud" by Shearwater, from the CD "Rook" on Matador label.

I tried I didn't get to see it sad.gif
First I spend 20 minutes opening the Qtime video only to find I didn't have that plugin.
The Mp4 wouldn't open since no program recognized the extension.

Sorry, I will sort it out later so I can watch, this work computer is restricted at the least smile.gif

Just a idea

It would have been better if you shoot from some other angles.Pne angle makes it little bit boring.

Thanks for the kind words. biggrin.gif

Vinod: You are right. I need to get another/better camera if I do this again in the future.
