As the topic says i'm suddenly getting a high output latency in Cubase with my PODxt. In the VST Multitrack settings that use ASIO PODxt the input latency is fine i can record in normal speed but when trying to play back its hellishly slow and impossible to work with. The latency is in the millions so not good at all. It seems to be since i've installed a VSTi but there has to be something up with that because its only 1 that i've installed and i'm pretty sure my pc is capable of handling it. What can i do to make this better?

Possibly the VSTi reset some previous settings. Like the control panels' audio settings. I've experienced myself that with a default device like a built in soundcard doesn't work well while recording. So perhaps your VSTi have reset something like that? huh.gif

When playing your VST instrument, are you playing it with a midi, cause this might give you a bad latency if you want to record an audio file on it. What you can do, is export your midi file into a mp3 file than inport it so that why your midi file become an audio file ....
Not sur i'm clear lol !!

I'm not sure, i've done a test. If i start a new project with no VSTi selected the latency is fine. However the moment i turn the new plugin on then the latency goes sky high without me even recording anything or playing anything back

Maybe your computer can't handle it all for some reason. What kind of VST are you using ? I would suggest going to preferences>device settings and setting up your podxt as default sound device (one again) in cubase. Maybe it resets something and works than..

Which VSTi is this? Some VSTs have built in latency because of all the processing they do, which in turn adds latency to everything as the host compensates to keep everything in time. Going sky high seems wrong though ...

Reinstall the drivers. It should work on a reasonably good machine mate.

if you use major VSTs you need mac. windows can't handle it without latency. THat's what my local audioshop said anyway.
