I just watched this film tonight again while I was channel flicking and I'd forgotten just how good this film is.

The last time I watched it was a few years ago, and it wasn't the first time, and I remember not really understanding what happened... Which is the same tonight! It's such a good film, but at the same time, its mental. I really can't come up with a theory that explains what really happens supposedly post the film...

This time was the first time I really noticed the very end scene, where the guy who actually has the virus on board the plane, sits next to one of the scientists from the future that sends (Bruce Willis, forgotten the characters name) and says shes into insurance. I presume meaning insurance that Willis' character would inevitably fail, and she was to try to succeed in bringing back a sample as a cure to the virus.

But still... Very confusing, and there's so many theories out there! It's a bit like donnie darko in that regard, I guess the film was meant to make you come up with your own interpretation of what happens next...

I wonder if any of you guys have any theories on YOU think happens in the film smile.gif

Another question from me would be: Does this film (or any other you can think of) make you feel a little "insane" when you're watching this? I realise this question could make you all have second doubts about my mental stability but hear me out!! tongue.gif

I just notice with this film, and one other that notably makes you feel very uneasy about whats reality and whats just plane insanity in the film which would be Jacob's Ladder (also very good!), and wanted to see if anyone else feels like this when watching certain films?

Heh, love to hear your views guys smile.gif

I'm ready for the "Nurse, he's out of his bed again!" responses to my second question! biggrin.gif

I can't make up my mind about this movie, if it's a good movie or of it's plain rubbish.
I guess that means I found it interesting.

In many areas it is very weak but with the right mindset the plot has interesting twists. In parts it's very predictable, others are not.

This is my all time favourite movie. I won't go into theories about things in the movie since I've done that way too many times, but man, this movie is awesome.

12 Monkees was awesome!

If you like time travel movies I would also recomend "Donnie Darko."

I've seen 12 monkeys like 5 times, awesome movie, and that last scene with the scientist messes up with my mind.

I thought that that was the scientist in the past, before she became a scientist, and its like if she was in the plane that was already contaminated because he had already released the virus, how come she was alive in the future?

But now that you are saying that she is the scientist from the future on that plane, So I am more confused, she knew all along who it was that released the virus??

I am going crazy

Glad its not just me! Bafflind story line isn't it? Very good though.

I really liked Donnie Darko, I was dissapointed with the directors cut though.

It's one of my all time favorite movies, great movie, and Brad Pitt did a great job, so did Brus and Madeline, I like the fact that the movie has a bit of that Europe character to it, specially in music themes, shots, and whole future concept.

And yes, the scientists eventually did figure out who will spread the virus, so the women scientist came from the future to board the plane as "insurance" as she nicely says.

Yes. Donnie Darko is perfectly weird. That's a movie I like.

Insurance of what?? she wants to stop it, or make sure it is well spread?, so the whole mission the gave Bruce Willis was Bogus?

My interpretation was that the scientists never intended to change time, they simply wanted a sample to takew back to the future in order to make a vaccine.

I don't understand Willis' contribution however, it could just be that as he was part of the past and the outbreak of the virus and inevitably had to follow his footsteps as it had already happened.

Thinking into the aspects of time travel is inevitably going to lead to problems and painful heads!

I also thought for a moment, that maybe what caused the problem in the first place was Bruce Willis' character going back in time, as in the mental institution he gives the idea of eliminating the human race to Brad Pitt, and that is maybe how Brad Pitt's Father's Assistant got the idea. Was brad pitt and the assistant in it together or not??.

I remember the woman doctor called brad pitts father and told him everything about the virus and stuff, thinking that it was going to be brad pitt the one to release the virus, and the assitant (the actual virus releaser) was there with him.

Literally though, WTF?!

It's starts off kind of like a crap action film, then goes like Saw, then goes like some budget space film.

Truly, truly dire.

You should watch Happiness of the Katakuris which is another Asian film. It's so terrible but funny. It's line on the front says Love. Music. Horror. Volcanoes. The hills are alive with the sound of screaming biggrin.gif It's like a horror musical laugh.gif

And I don't think I could possibly have a go at explaining Save the Green Planet. You should watch Primer also. Another great film.
