Hey Guys,

Even earlier than originally expected I have my new Eric Johnson strat together with a Fender HotRod Deluxe ..... after I got it yesterday, I fine-tuned about more or less everything together with a band-mate who has expert knowledge smile.gif... took me a little while, but the tone is absolutely stunning, the neck is really fast (and looks awesome), nice low action and the amount of personality I can give to my playing with this set-up is for me definitely much more than with my other Ibanez/Marshall set-up.

Only problem I have currently is that if I plug in my USB connection in my G9.2tt for recording, a very irritating hum (fairly high frequency is instantly audible through the amp, any tips to stop this would be great so I can upload a little improv later smile.gif

Here are some pictures taken after I played it for about 10 hours over night without any sleep smile.gif

Cheers
Roger

Still its a great axe and I bet its rich in natural harmonics and the sustain is killer too:)

Thanks a lot guys, off to bed now, don't even want to calculate how many hours I played since it arrived almost non-stop tongue.gif. Still a long time to get the most out of my new playing toys.

Btw, if anybody has any good suggestion how to get rid of a specific 'computer generated hum' when I connect my USB cable to my effect processor for direct PC recording, that would be great as currently this annoys be big-time. One option I tried already is filtering post-recording on Sonar LE using the EQ, however this affects a large part of the tone as well, so no joy there.

Roger congratulations! The guitar and amp look awesome, especially the guitar. I'm happy with my strat deluxe but would definitely prefer your model.
I had a lot of noise when recording with my POD XT Live USB as well, I generally had to unplug a lot of other stuff, I would run my laptop on just batteries, that seemed to do the trick but a pain though.

Yeah it may be that all sort of things are interfering but it will only show when you connect the USB cable. The frustrating part is that if I use my Marshall / g9.2tt setup it will not have any noise at all, but with my new amp it does smile.gif The sound of the HotRod is really nice, but all kinds of noises are also amplified if you are not careful.
