Thanks guys I think I learned it's about note selection as opposed to note quantity... I always heard people say that but I never really knew what it meant. I learned that from GMC. I finally figured out you need to follow the chord changes - I used to do it entirely by ear and would get lost eventually, after reading the forums and practicing some GMC lessons I figured out how to pick the right notes most of the time...
