i was wondering i could i change the pre amp tube on my marshall vs100
because i dont have a clue how to do it

i got a new fender 12ax7/7025 russian

can anyone help me?

You have to unscrew the screws on the top of the amp, and the back side as well. Unplug the reverb, and take the amp out of the box. You will see the ECC83 (12AX7) tube in there, just pull it out, check how the pins were aligned and insert a new one following the same allignment. Job done.

thx for the reply Ivan but im still not sure how to do it

do you have any website that shows how to change?
i dont want to ruin my AMP

ps this is the combo version not the stack

I don't have the VS100 so I wouldn't know exactly. I have a friend who's got a similar combo and he says it's pretty narrow in there, don't know if that was in regards to where the tube sits.

The preamp tube could also have a metal housing that you have to remove first. Push down, turn and then it's lose. The preamp tube sits inside.
