Yes, another great concert held here in the lovely parts of Michigan. Mac's Bar gets eternal hails for an awesome line-up. The bar was small and packed, and the stage was cramped, but it still one thrashin good time! If you werent there, I feel sorry for you.

Satyrasis was first on the list. There music was like a more catchy and a more memorable technical level than Meshuggah. There singers style of voice also reminded me of the Meshuggah's singer. Good opening set. Lots of headbanging to be had, and the band seems to get along with the crowd just fine. One of the better local acts here in Mi.

Genocya was up next. I dont really know how to describe there sound. It definitely wasn't bad, just didn't stick with me enough for me to remember it. The singer was terrible though. Not bad really.

Sauron was up next on the thrashin list. Man, these guys never ran out of stage antics and crowd presence. This was my second time seeing them, and it really gets better the more you see em. Drunk as F playing thrash doesnt get any better than this. We were joking around with Doomy G because he was drinking water. Played a lot of classic songs like Witch King, Thrash Till Death, Thrash (Metal) Assault, and a cover of Blasphemer (Sodom). We were just havin a good time moshing and going up on stage and drinkin beers. Bum rush the stage and totally went wild. IfF YOU WANT A THRASHIN' GOOD TIME, GO SEE SAURON BECAUSE THEY WILL BREAK YOUR NECK FROM EXTREME HEADBANGING. In there last song, Viktor over-heated his amp in the middle of the song and has to do the whole riff and solo acapella style. Total blast of the show and nothing can ever top it.

Wolves In The Throne Room kick off the main band. The atmosphere was UNREAL. They lit some candles on the stage and turned every lights off. Fog machine working. Wolves was insane. Very depressing, dooming sound full of rage, anguish, pain, and desolation. Top it off with the aura there atmosphere gave off. Just shut your eyes and hear these guys play some of the most earthy and beautiful black metal you will ever hear. Just a long drawn out show with no hiss and stops. Adrenaline was just sparking everywhere. I give these guys a lot of respect for being one of the best Black Metal bands to come out in the last 10 years. Also nice guys. Got to meet them after the show.

We left before Nachtmystium play because it was 1:45 am and we were hungry and have to drive home for 2 hours.

I'm so unbelievably jealous, you got to meet wolves in the throne room. And see them live! OMFG, I cannot possibly make this post make any sense because I'm just amazingly jealous. Oh my god, what songs did they play? Imo they are the best black metal band since Ulver (something you're probably aware of since I won't ever shut up about them laugh.gif ), maybe even better than Ulver ever was and omg.

Tell me more!

I am STILL kicking myself for not being there, but oh well. Sounds like it was a great time.

I'm not familiar with any of there songs on Diadem 12, but I know they played Cleansing, Behold The Vastness and Sorrow, and I think I will Lay Down my Bones Among The Rocks and Roots. There drummer was pretty intense. The 2 singers were like "turn up the vocal reverb all the way.. lots and lots of reverb". It was just a massive intense feeling. Both of the singers screams were just torturous, but when they do there little feedback breaks, there was just this deep aura of sounds that surrounds you. Very intense stuff. The whole candle and no lights set the perfect mood for them.

you're lucky you got to see WITR. I've been wanting to see them since I first listened to them, and I finally had my chance when they were touring with Boris. Unfortunately, they dropped out of that tour which pissed me off quite a bit (I wanted to see them MORE than Boris). I heard they played pretty intense shows, do you have any pics?

Sorry, no pics. It was pretty epic though. Something that cannot be explained through words.

Well, I lost my digital camera. All I had was my Nikon D40, and I'm not bringing that to a metal concert laugh.gif
