True that he is not as famous as SRV but I don't know the answer. I have an album where he plays with SRV, very good album.

Why would anybody drag him down? The guy is great, he just didn't become famous as Stevie was that's all, but his an awesome player and musician nevertheless.

Im not a big fan, I only heard a few clips but i found his phrasing to be quite stale.....I don't actively dislike him- there are just other artists out there who i prefer.

Reason I don't like him is that I'm sure I was whooping his ass after just 3 years of playing. I could also train my dog to play a 7th and 9th chord, 2 bends with a half-assed vibrato and he'd be a better player. He has the same lick over and over and nothing in his playing inspires me.

SRV on the other hand had..2 LICKS in his entire arsennal that made him and alot of people don't realize this. The thing is that Stevie played those 2 licks with about 5 variations and he played them FAST so fast that he'd use it for every song just about and he could make it sound completely different. He was still incredible with mostly 2 licks, just incredible. He only moved out of his tiny pentatonic boxes when he did covers. His pentatonic boxes consisted of mostly 3-5 notes on 2 strings but look what he did with it (perfect example Texas Flood). At least with me the hardest part of learning SRVs style was his timing and his world famous slide but the rest was no problem.
