I really love the Schecter diamond Series C-1. It plays like a $1500 dollar guitar and seems to be well rounded. If you get a chance to play one at a Guitar Center or Sam Ash I Would highly recommend it. The action is very good (low strings with no buzz) and has good clean sounding pickups.

None of those
My advice - a Variax played through a POD XTLive and a Flat response (Keyboard) amp. Sheer perfection and any tone you like including Acoustic and 12 string. Go to your local shop - try one out. I promise you will be blown away by the sheer versatility of it. -------------------- its not easy

All right I'm gonna go for a Fender, do you guys think I should go for an American strat or a Highway one strat(also made in America)?

The one you should go for is the one that "Talks" to you.
You have to try both, and try to play them for an hour or more in the store - one of them will shout "buy me buy me" to you and you will have to buy it. If neither talk to you, neither is right - you will know the right guitar within 5 mins of picking it up and it may, in fact it will probably surprise the heck out of you. It may not be a strat at all. Be open. When I was in exactly your position, I went to a couple of guitar shops and tried various strats - I knew I wanted a strat - so I tried every one I could from the cheapest to stuff way outta my price range - there was hardly any difference between any of them, some were better made and had more refinements but essentially they were all the same. The best Guitar I tried and one that shocked me be how good it felt was a Telecaster. One of those had never been on my radar, I only tried it by mistake but that guitar was the one - it really spoke to me but I did not buy it. In fact I have never owned or even played a tele since. - I bought a Strat off Ebay (though I went to see and play it first) and kind of bought it on impulse. I did love that guitar for a while but it was not the one. If the Guitar don't talk to you - you will soon want one that does. I am lucky in that I did find the perfect guitar later. When you have the perfect guitar you will know it. Use the knowledge and desire you have only as a guide, not a hard and fast rule and try lots of different guitars - you will know whats right when you try it. Trust me you WILL know what it is when you get it in your hands. I remember you said that you dont have any guitar shops near you so I guess that makes life difficult but make the effort to try to find guitars for sale you can try. One other thing to bear in mind, despite all logic seeming to say different - the cost of a guitar has little bearing on the sound of the guitar. If I find the web page I will link to it - but a "blind" test was carried out on 50 guitars with people voting on the sound they heard - the top 20 contained all the guitars under $500 and the 5 highest priced guitars all came lower than the top 20. The same test was done with people seeing the guitar they were voting the sound on, and the top priced guitars came top of the list !! this means people "think" the best sound comes from the highest priced and most fashionable guitars but when blindfolded the lower priced models are the ones that got voted for. Higher price means little more than a "cool" factor - and yet cool guitar players usually play beat up old things. Its amazing how influenced we all are by marketing hype. My advise is dont buy a guitar based on knowledge gained from a magazine ad. Make your own mind up. Also, Fender are the best selling brand so by asking for other peoples opinions, most people are going to say Fender because thats what they have. Have just been searching for a link to the test described above but cannot find it now - I will keep looking. -------------------- its not easy
