So I thought this might be a good thread for people to look at what they have accomplished this year and to think about what you want to accomplish next year and how to go about doing it. My goals for this year was to finally learn to play some songs from start to finish instead of just the "cool" licks. I learned 2 songs by Andy James and I learned Muris' Canon Rock. Technique wise my legato and tapping techniques really improved. The songs I want to learn next years are Vai's "blood and glory" and "windows to the soul". I thought technique wise I am going to focus on Hybrid picking and alternate/economy picking, definitely two gaping holes in my technique. To accomplish this my goal is going to be to be able to learn and post videos of my playing some of Muris's lessons with alot of those techniques. I thought I would choose, "lydian phrasing advanced", "Fusion Jam advanced", "Petatonic phrasing advanced" and his Bb minor advanced. Pretty lofty goals I would say but if you don't push yourself you won't progress. Anybody else thought about what they want to accomplish next year? BTW Muris, could I get the pentatonic BT if it wouldn't be too much trouble, full speed please. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Thanks!!

Thanks Murs!! I know my plan sounds ambitious, and maybe it isn't realistic, but it will keep me busy and should get me closer to where I want to be as a player!! Can't get to where you want to go without a plan!! I'll post takes on my progress. Time to get to work now. tongue.gif tongue.gif Thanks again.

Oh,it's more than realistic, you're judging yourself too hard,
few days/weeks of hard practicing and you'll almost be there, trust me,
looking forward to your takes tho. smile.gif
