Little more than a year ago (my god, time is passing by fast!) I googled the web for some guitar info, and stumbled apon a GMC forum. Something was a bit strange to me. Everybody was so polite and helpful - the thing I wasn't too used to when browsing other online communities. As I searched more and more, it became clear to me that this site was a musicians oasis in the web and I bookmarked the url.
In the next couple of days as I browsed a bit more and saw the guitar jobs link and clicked on it. I read the instructions and send my application video to Kris. I didn't think the video would pass, but it did and I got very exited. I became a guitar instructor! smile.gif As days passed by, it was clear that GMC job was something of a perfect job - working at home, developing lessons and new skills, helping others, and interacting with hi quality musicians and cool people online from all over the world!
Until then I advanced and found out a lot of things related to music and video production, and a lot more other cool and useful stuff. Now after a year of working here I'm very pleased with my decision to join in and can say that it is an honor to work with such cool people and serve in such a cool community as GMC is.

Thank you very very very much GMC! smile.gif

I have been a member only for about 5 or 6 months but I must say that my playing has really improved in that amount of time. I was really in a rut before I found this site!! Even thoug Ivan's style is not my cup of tea that is the coolest thing about GMC. The fact that if you like funk guitar you can find lessons on here to help your funk playing. Same goes for classical, flamenco etc. This is a true guitarists guitar site, no matter what style/genre you are into. I haven't seen any instructors on here that I am not IMPRESSED with, even if I don't particularly like the style/genre of music they are playing. This site is far and away the best site for learning GUITAR period!!! Glad you found this place Ivan, you are an awesome Instructor!!!

Congrats Ivan and also Fran.

About the first impression, it's quite similar to mine. When I looked in the forum, I said, whatta? ohmy.gif

I started my first post with something like "Before you all flame me, " and the first answer was , "not here mate. No one will flame you, just on the rest of the internet" ohmy.gif

Several months later I am even more impressed with GMC community.

Congrats Ivan smile.gif

I'm glad you found this place. I have enjoyed your collabs and leasons.

--------------------
"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato
