Thise are very cool comparisons, the guy did a nice comparison on both of them. SD are more dispersed and somewhat richer in transients, while EMG is definitely more balanced and defined. I didn't check out the clean comparison tho.

I've known this vid for quite some time and it's very helpfull and he plays great. I still can't believe that he has two 2000$ guitars and plays them through a line6 spider amp -.-

he just probally like the tone laugh.gif
i'm just can belive the nice explanations about the problem with string and what all he do to avoid the noise on his 2000$ jackson {take out the backplate and more stuff}
but he also say werry important thing ...you can have most expensive guitar and great pickups but if your fingers are not comfortable to play your sound will be suck tongue.gif

something little out of topic..but i'm impress how many guys here have Pod{Xt-X3}..they don't have great pickups but from that stuff they can create nice Metal sound but also nice clean sound

and 1 more out of topic...i'm kind of angry becouse youtube blocked 1 my video where my friend faichting on Ufc cage becouse they say on the begining where the guys entering the cage is the probally song probaly wrong

Yeah, in this test they do sound a bit better.

However the guy forgot to mention that the thickness of the pick also affects the tone. Using fingers is another question. I assume he used the same picks for both guitars.

It would've been much better though if he led the sound into his PC instead of crushing the mic of that camera... dry.gif

Nice comparison, for my taste passive SD sound better than active EMG, somehow more organic smile.gif

Same here. I don't find EMGs too versatile either.
