With the new neck and pots...what would this guitar be worth?

I'd grab it for that price.

If no more work is needed, then I'd say go for it. If he is just including the neck, that's another issue. These are set neck guitars with a glued in joint. You will pay for bench time to have it fixed. Personally, I would go for it if I could come out with a playable guitar for under 500-600 bucks.

Here's one on CL for $550 which looks to be in pretty good shape.

Sounds like a good deal to me! The headstock on my les paul broke once, but after the local repairguy had it for a day it was as good as new. Didnt cost much to fix either.
Didnt need a new neck, it just took some glue.

Good point!
I don't know how luthiers does that but I've heard of one method with a sharp waterbeam to "cut" out the glue and remove the neck. That or steam works on glue. Not sure how you'd do it yourself.

Depends on how short on cash you are... A studio is only 1100 new (for a low end one) you can probably get one on ebay for even less... headstock/neck repairs are really tricky things. I would exercise caution with that...

I would say you will have to pay at least that much for repairing mate, so choose wisely.

Well I would be very careful with this one..It may not be worth it..Its possible to repair it , but It can be expensive and who knows if everything work well (and if Luther is able to repair it) and how the guitar will sound...I don't think the guy would be selling it for that price if you only gotta put on the new neck (which is included) and few pots smile.gif
I wouldn't gamble with this one, rather save more money and go for a used one in working condition or even a new...

I was thinking about repairing it and reselling it. Seems like a lot of trouble with that set neck though...I forgot those things aren't bolt on!

No my friend the neck is set on Les Pauls. It's very tricky to do it properly, so I suggest you stay away from this offer smile.gif
