I was looking for some VST's that will help me create sort of ambient type music? Ethereal?

Im not sure if I am explaining this correctly or if I gave a bad description.

Kinda like when Pink Floyd was really spacey? Like Echoes. Not the guitar part but the background stuff...
There is a user here at GMC who I seen do some but I don't recall his name.

ARe there any VST's that can help me create these? Im not sure what Im really looking for to be honest.

Native Instruments has one called Absynth that's pretty spacy. Will cost you though.

There's a freeware called Nebula Free. Should be a www.acusticaudio.com but it doesn't seem to be up and running properly right now...
Anyway, it should eb able to add effects. I never tried it so I can't vouch for it.
Try it again later, maybe the link will work evetually. idk

Absynth tends to run around US$200 but it's kind of the standard in that space. It does a lot of stuff but part of its main focus originally was more ambient kinds of things. You can build some really complex multiayered sounds in it with some really long envelopes. The presets you get with it are nuts. I haven't messed around with anything else that really is that well oriented to ambient spacy stuff.

I have Reason at home ($400 or so) and it can get there if you work at it, but doesn't really live in a VST.

VST's in general are pretty pricey, i would suggest trying out a demo before buying.. some products are not worth the price

You can demo most of the products, even big ones. Also you can make pads with all kinds of free VSTs. For example for some projects you can even use embracer plug from Cubase to add a pad, and then EQ it and add reverb. IF you know what you want and what you are doing, it can sound really good.

Hi I do quite some electronic music stuff.
The Native instruments are really great and definitely what you are looking for. Just a little expensive. But there are great free synth too. Anyway, you can download the free Native Koreplayer this nice vst contains 50 different stripped down synths from the native family. All the instruments can be fine tuned. That thing is the best free instrument I know off.

http://www.native-instruments.com/index.ph...eplayer&L=1

for a really big list of free and commercial stuff go here:

http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php

I can give you a list of other samplers, romplers, instrument I use but I suggest you start with the kore player.
The song here is exclusively made with KorePlayer. I guess ´musically not what your looking for, but this are some of the tame sounds.

The thing to keep in mind that a lot of that kind of softare is focused on the pro recording musician. NIN uses NI's Reaktor, for example.

There area a lot of small, simple VST's out there that are free or cheap and it takes a lot of digging to find them sometimes.
