Thank you Pedja, very well done collaboration, thank you for your deep comments. I agree my problems on bending strings. I believe my string gauge is itself a great challenge. But It gives me better sustain and I dare not go against it. May be I'll try .10 someday. But from now on I'll change my exercices program for a more bend oriented one.

You did a great job man! I await your next collaboration with enthousiasm...

Something weird has occured biggrin.gif

Maybe it's like those old horror films where the characters get killed in a certain order. I think maybe that's why Pedja isn't on currently. He is going round the world taking people's lives starting with Velvet Roger and when they meet their doom their history is erased and hence the comments disappearing.

Either that or he has edited to add mp3 and some comments disappeared by accident and he is currently asleep after working 2 days solidly on this final mix biggrin.gif

I think it might be number 2 reason smile.gif

Looking at his posting time and the subsequent edit time I would certainly opt for option 2 .... a well deserved rest will certainly solve the problem, I am sure smile.gif

Why should somebody take comments away? ohmy.gif I'll view the final mix this evening.

Greeting from school! laugh.gif

I just checked your comment about me. smile.gif Thanks. After Christmas I'll have a much better tone. biggrin.gif Recently, I started working with a metronome, so my out-of-time playing should be eliminated soon. Your comment helps me to become a better guitarist, thank you. smile.gif

Woah! Absolutely great comments, Pedja. Some of the best comments on collabs so far. My intro was meant to be kinda off and unexpected actually. Also the two guitars were meant to not be totally harmonic, but have a certain feel of early 90s prog a la Psychotic Waltz smile.gif

Will listen and read all of the comments soon!

Unfortunately I think I will have low confidence with my guitaring for a long time. It was still messy what I played. I think the ideas were fine but the playing not so.

Pedja, many thanks for the enormously useful comments!!!!

I totally agree with all of them (and I am quite happy that you liked the sound, as I am still struggling big time with getting a good quality sound from my EJ strat on a recording).

After I recorded the track, I listened several times and noticed as well that the bends definitely needs some work.

However the most important comment about my phrasing will keep me busy for a while probably. Funny side-note is that I am actually playing blues and bluesrock and a bit of funk in my band, but I have lessons from a jazz guitar teacher (which probably explains part of your comments smile.gif).

I like your sound Velvet also. Very nice on the ears. I noticed it first in the Blues Video collab that Ivan did. Lovely Strat sound and some really cool licks. You just needed to piece them together a bit better and to be honest I thought a couple more takes and you'd have nailed it. I really like your style smile.gif Keep it up mate.

Well I consider myself a beginner to be absolutely honest, so am happy with all the advice I could get. Thanks for the kind words smile.gif. The sound of the strat at home using my HotRod amp or even trough my Marshall amp is however much, much nicer still. Am really thinking of getting a Toneport UX2 to see whether I can achieve better results with that...

I have the UX2 and it makes recording so much easier. smile.gif I highly recommend it. But you have some good equipment and you are sounding pretty good I think. But I'm no expert. I'm just saying I like it smile.gif

Yeah, I am quite happy with my equipment in general, but the Zoom stuff is more geared towards heavy rock/metal than my own musical style, but I really like the pre-amp tubes inside it, which really give the sound some extra. Anyways, am just figuring things out, and even still playing around with the pickup heights to get exactly the tone I would like to get.

Sorry for having this discussion btw in your thread Pedja... will shut up now tongue.gif
