I think half of what we see on tv is just made for profit, for example everytime we read something terrible is going to happen like a meteor is on collision course with the earth or the sun is blowing up then you can bet your bottom that its just a scientist who is short of money or want the extra publicity. A while ago i heard about this Norwegian scientist who made this "Black hole machine" that created small black holes inside a room, well people/scientists actually thought that this was going to be the end of the world...
