Hi

Im an 19 year old boy from norway and ive played guitar for some years now, but never very seriously. This year im not having any school or anything (dont even have a job) so i wanted to play guitar more seriously and i found this great site! biggrin.gif
My amp have some standard effects like delay and chorus, but i want more! so i was wondering what you people would recommend. i guess i want some sort of box which has lots of effects i can play with tongue.gif

Welcome to GMC ! Regarding effects I would always recommend buying separate stomp boxes to get a high quality sound...On the other hand you have multi effects processor units from boss, line 6 etc that will give you all the effects (but will not sound as good as separate stomp boxeS)..

Hello, welcome to GMC, to play with your computer ....1º go thru a direct box or go to the amp, then from the amp lineout go to the line input of your sound board (the blue one). 2º download some vst plugin or standalone that emulates amps, or effects. 3º Asuming that your using your onboard sound card, download the asio4all drivers to have less latency.
You can check in the recording forum for all kind of answers.

Welcome to GMC. As Emir said, playing with plugins on your computer is probably the cheapest way, there are a few programs out there with plugins that are free, but there is a steep learning curve, if you are not much of a computer guy.

Maybe it is best to buy one of those multi effect pedals

Welcome to GMC, mate! I hope you enjoy your stay.

I too use my computer for playing, though it's still through a multi-effect.

Goes like this:

Guitar -> Pandora PX4D (used to use Boss GT6) -> 1212m sound card...

I think that works quite well for me at least.
