I decided to upgrade my home-recording studio a bit, so I sold my soundcard,
studio monitors and my GT-10 (which is still on sale) smile.gif

I went down to my favourite local shop and bought:

1. EVENT TR6 studio monitors

Attached Image

Let me tell you, these are awesome! I've tried out a pair before and fell in love with them,
so I decided to go get 'em smile.gif

The sound is very alike my AKG K271 Studio headset, which is a good thing as I can now switch
between headphones and monitors and keep the same sound throughout the mix smile.gif
The monitors got more "ooomph" though biggrin.gif

2. Steinberg MR816CSX - Advanced Integration DSP Studio Soundcard

Attached Image

This one cost a fortune laugh.gif
Looks awesome, sounds awesome and is fully integrated with Cubase.
Great onboard effects and Eight discrete Class A analogue ‘D-Pre’ mic preamps
with combination XLR and TRS analog inputs with advanced new inverted Darlington circuits,
hardware gain knob, phantom power and -26dB Pad switch per channel.

Do you think I'm looking forward to recording with it? laugh.gif

3. I've also ordered the Steinberg CC121 - Advanced Integration Controller.

Attached Image

Just read more about it by clicking the link smile.gif
It gives you totally integrated tactile control of Steinberg’s Cubase range of production systems.
With motorized fader etc.

Gonna be fun, and make my work easier smile.gif

I'm also gonna buy a Tube Microphone Preamp, a TC electronic
or a Lexicon effect system for my rack, but this will have to wait till after Christmas smile.gif

Thanks for reading, have fun guys smile.gif

I own exactly the same. Been using for a year or so. No big problem, a little hiss noise sometimes, and we have to admit they are not exactly the perfect reference but they sure are awesome.

Congrats mate!!!

I don't have a hiss problem so far, and neither does a friend of mine using the same unsure.gif
Of course, there are better reference monitors out there. But not for the price in my opinion.
And they resemble the sound in my headphones so much, they're a dream to mix tracks with smile.gif
The sound in my AKG's are a pretty good reference, and if they sound like that they're good enough for me smile.gif

Thanks mate smile.gif

That is really awesome gear Audiopaal great&wise choice. The rack and controller are my favorites as well since I'm a Steinberg user as well. I really really expect some reviews after you play around with them a bit smile.gif
