Well.... so I am choosing my Xmas gift.. here is the deal

2nd guitar ( Schecter 7 - either Demon or Damien. I heard, that Demon has better Pups - active Duncan designed 105 as opposed to EMG-HZ)

or

studio monitors M-audio BX5A

Its kinda tough - I love 7 string necks and I am grinding (hardly practicing..) 8 finger tapping right now (and Jeff Loomis/nevermore as well) and the opportunity of the extra B string is really appealing to me.. Another point is, that the songs I am playing are some in standard tuning, some in Db Ab Db tuning, so I wouldnt need to retune...

On the other hand, I just recently started recording my songs (Pod X3 live, Drumkit from hell, Cubase) and the monitors would really help me with mixing - and with enjoying music as well of course smile.gif I heard them and they sound fantastic to my ears..

So, my dear fellow GMC'ers, what would you choose.. I am really clueless... sad.gif

Btw. I am falling in love with Schecters biggrin.gif:D

The thing about being really stupid, is that there are a zillion ways to be a moron. There are usually several ways to be intelligent, given a situation, but it is a small finite number. But there are always a zillion ways to be to blithering idiot. So finding a new way to have the intellect of an artichoke is nothing to be proud of really, it is easy to do.

So true... To bad im still an artichoke haha

Yeah Ibanez makes one (under $500 cdn, so $400 us). This is a local dealer from Canada, that has the BEST prices I've seen on the net. Not sure where you live, but if your in Europe somewhere, shipping might be the same as if ordering from the US.

Axemusic

I found both guitars, just search '7-string'. The Schecter and the Ibanez are $5 diff in price.

I'd choose the monitors IF you're planning on recording and want to learn how to mix tracks better smile.gif
If you'd rather wanna concentrate on playing guitar, and you're not gonna record much I'd go for the guitar smile.gif

Just make sure that if you buy a guitar with a floating bridge, it'll be a schaller floyd rose or an Ibanez Edge bridge.
Personally I love ESP!!!

Look at Zsolt Galambos guitar, such a beauty.

You gotta check what your priorities are man. If you go on gigs and need a second guitar as backup, or any other reason for needing a 2nd one than the guitar is probably a better option. If you have bad speakers and need to hear your sound better and with a more precise response, than monitors would be a good choice.

My advice would be the Schecter. They make the best 7 strings out there IMO. If you're playing Jeff Loomis, then that guitar is a must and the Ibanez above won't suit you that good. And ESPs are a bit pricey.

But, on the other hand, your priorities should decide.

EDIT: between Demon and Damien, my choice would definitely be the Damien. You should try both tho.
