So its my 3 month anniversary here...I thought I'd share my expierence with others considering its time for renewal at full membership prices smile.gif

This is an excerpt of a message I sent Chris (Smells)...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So last night I thoguht to do some exercising on Tronds Am rock solo. This was one you had recomended me to do at the first when we started to roll on the MTP.
Im able to hit the those fast runs now!!! Not as clean and precise as I want but just the fact that my fingers are moving faster and I know what to do and how to position your fingers....
I thought about sending Trond a note... (Here's your note Trond smile.gif )
Even as far as reading a tab and understanding it and quickly putting it into practice. I use to stare a Tab and get confused a lot. Especially on the faster parts.
I have definately been improving these last couple of months. Just want to give you a thanks for helping me. I wish you lived around me cuz I would take you out for some brew or something.
Although frustrations has been present but getting through are tough. The community here has been very helpful but shockingly enough my wife has been very supportive of me getting through some of the obstacles. Although Im still waiting for that HUGE eureka moment these little ones are definately worth mentioning.
Anyways..Tahnsk a lot for your critiques, patience and guidance Chris. I have been reaping a lot of rewards from your guidance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So what does this tell me? I have improved quite a bit in 3 months. I still have some rocky moments and trying to get through some of them but I can't imagine not to continue my membership here and my involvement here in the community. I also just want to thank everyone here for your quick responses to my questions and the great debates going on. Its definately a cool place to be with so many different people that respect people from different countries that all share the same dream. Thanks to Kris for a great web site, to all the instructors and the students that make up this great place! smile.gif

I have learned a lot from you all and Im definately on the road to shredadom. Man there are a lot of dirt roads here... smile.gif

I started just before Dan did.

In fact I recruited him here.

I want to echo his thoughts on the community. This is one awesome group. LOTS of top notch people. GREAT instructors. And awesome senior folks helping out elsewhere. Smells, Fran, etc...

I havent spent as much time on the lessons as I had hoped but thats due to my own plate being rather full with other guitar focuses at the moment. (band audition) I look forward to getting that gig and then diving in to the lessons that I have been perusing and really getting some work done.

Dan is right. GMC is awesome. I signed up for a year back in Sept. And I can see another year following this one.

\m/ \m/

P.S. I can't wait for the MTP to start rolling. I havent been this excited for lessons in a LONG time.

That is good to hear, I found GMC by luck, and quickly wanted to join luckily enough I applied for instructor and got accepted. I like the community a lot, enjoy the discussions and the help from everyone, on everything not only guitar stuff.

Opeth all it takes is dedication, if you want to shred you will shred, hard work can only lead to results, and everyone is here to help if you get stuck.

To me GMC is the best way to learn. I know for some people private lessons are best, not for me, after I learned the basics, I did everything myself, I wasn't fortunate to have GMC for guidance or anything when I started, I just had to find things out for myself, now if trying out something new, new technique new theory I read, I try if find problems I have somewhere to go and ask.

As an example I've been wanting to get started on percussive guitar for a long time, and I asked if anyone knew of lessons and stuff, there wasn't any at the time, but got a few responses with links to videos and tips, then shortly Ramiro Del Forte Joined and gave us a few of those. Still I have been to lazy to get into it, but it is there, it will save tons of time than figuring it out myself.
