Point Of Two Different Speakers, need some really fast help

Was wondering whats the point of having two different speakers in a 212 cabinet, for example i'm gonna get either two vintage 30s or two greenbacks (celestion) why do some people do like one greenback and one vintage 30? Dec 23 2008, 12:56 AM	GMC:er Posts: 535 Joined: 23-August 07	This is just a guess, I'm not very knowledgeable about speakers, but it might be to get the best of both worlds - for example, if you love the clarity and high end of one speaker, but it lacks the low end quality of another, you might get one of each to fill in the weak spots. The mixed frequencies is supposed to make a full sound. I've had my eyes on a Marshall 2x12 cab like that for some while. Need to ditch my 4x12 first but someday...
