Low Input On Amp Sims

Hi,

Recently I have downloaded TH1 Overloud Demo (amp sim for pc) but I have been having some problems with my input level. TH1 has an input level adjuster so I can test my input, but the problem is that it's low.
[Here a pic of what it looks like ]

I can't seem to reach the green part.

I have an EM-U 1212m soundcard, so I tried adjusting the volume in Patchmix, but it doesn't seem to help.
Guitar volume is on max and it's on the bridge position.

My setup:
Ibanez RG 1570 (with Dimarzio evolution pickups) -> di-box behringer DI-100 --> stereo cable -> EM-U 1212m

I am quite noob at this, so can anyone help?
Thanks smile.gif

Why is there a stereo cable between your DI box and EMU man?

Because my other cable is damaged and that's the only thing I could temporarily replace it with.

If the volume is down even in patchmix of the EMU, there could be possibly something wrong with the cabling. Is the volume down there man?

You have to keep in mind, that the loudness of the recording has nothing to do with loudness of what you hear wink.gif Double check you've properly set a level of recording in your soundcard mixer.

You are wright mate. The picture example just bust up playback sound, not actual recording volume.I control that option trough my pre amp.I think you need pe amp for louder signal, couse I think that E-Mu douse not have her own pre amps.

Well, generally speaking, if I put my guitar right into mic in my PC, I almost get nothing. You just have to have some hardware preamp... I'm going through my Boss MT-2 if I want to record something. Just turn a distortion off and it will serve as a preamp smile.gif

Hi again,

Ok, first I tried what Nemaja suggested and it improved, but not enough to reach the green part.
Then I went to a friend to borrow his HM-2 pedal. So I plugged everything in and it worked! (like utak3r suggested) biggrin.gif

Thanks alot Nemanja, utak3r and Ivan cool.gif appreciate it!

>edit: ops miss spelled Namanja's name sry tongue.gif
