YEAH! laugh.gif

Thats it buddy. You got it!

3 minor points

-Lack of vibrato on first melody part (dual guitar harmony thing) (but you got that on the 2nd repetition)

-Final lick, you seem to have hard time catching up with tempo at some point (work on that seperately with metronome)

-Try to slow down a little your vibratos if you are planning to keep them narrow

But this is a success. IMO we can start with Trooper on the next session...

Congratz Bro! You totally turned my mood from down to up biggrin.gif

Cheers biggrin.gif

Thanks man! You too Outlaw!

The AIC one is coming along slowly.

I tried this a bunch at -20BPM but in the end I needed to slow it back to -30BPM (75%)

Here is my vid. 1st I played it free form. Then started the backing. I just looped it and kept playing. Sometimes I made it to the end, sometimes I didnt.

I'm still struggling wit the end a lot.

Then I played it with the rhythm too. All at -30BPM (75%) I did mess up the rhythm some. It's the best I've done though and thats what counts. Progress baby! Progress.

Man, I am going to bed now its about 6.00am here, so I really need some sleep.

About bends, try to pick the target fret for the bend first. Memorise the sound of that. and after try to reach it with bend and hold on that note. There are some unwanted noises from others strings. That is normal. Try to mute lower strings with your palm and high strings with your free fingers. And also if you lack some strength for bending you may try to get some help from your other fingers by placing them on the string before the fret you are bending.

See ya tomorrow bro and take care! laugh.gif

About AIC, final take is done, but I see you have some little problems with the final pentatonic descent. You may isolate it and play it with a slower metronome, when you get it, do it altogether. This shouldnt take much time buddy, as in the final take you were actually able to play it!

biggrin.gif well done mate, you have the schedule isnt it? It is same with the previous one but start to Trooper instead of Losfer words.

It was very hard to find a tab with an exact solo tab, but I guess I found it. Our immediate target is to play whole song at %50 at least. But this is easier than it looks. Solo has some very easy but speedy licks, once you get them memmorised, you can nail them like in a few days buddy. Here is the tab:

YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWHHHHH
OOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Sounds good man.

I'll still be keeping Losfer Words current. And working on the ending. I'm going to try to get it 5 bpm faster by the end of the weekend if possible. With the ending.

What I plan on doing is using these previous lessons/exercises at the ends of my playing sessions. Kind of as a cool off / wind down thing.

Which part is this?

10 min Warmup

20 min Trooper
-----Goal 50% entire song

20 min AIC exercise
-----10 min getting used to solo part with speed increase (a little faster than the speed on video)
-----10 min whole exercise (combining the solo and the rhythm parts)

20 min Kris' Slow bending Licks

5-10 mins taking the Videos and editing etc.

The part just before the end buddy... If you play it alright tonight, it doesnt matter anyways biggrin.gif

I planned to do a Q&A session for today, but actually I was too busy sorry for that. You may start by taking a look to my si lesson Intervallic aproach to the Modes and Chords... That is a good start for you who are familiar with the theory basics...

That schedule is ok by the way, I am awaiting your takes....

Cheers smile.gif

Spent some time on "The Trooper"

I'll be able to do the rhythm at 75% very soon. Here is a vid at 50 then 75.

I stopped at the solo. That of course is another story. Can you please check to see that the tab file is right. It doesnt feel right... And honestly playing it that slow doesnt sound at all right either. But I cant even do it at 50% so thats where I'll be for a while. My time tonight is just getting the rhythm down.

The AIC lesson was a train wreck. Still at -30bpm. Making more mistakes than last time. I know the pattern, I'm not looking at tab, but I still mess it up..... All of this was at -30 bpm (75%) I seriously dont see myself ever getting this up to speed. Which isnt a good attitude I know. I don't see how GMC has this as a beginner lesson. How many beginners are nailing this? Seriously. I'm not giving up. I'll keep at it.....

Kris' Bending Lesson is going ok. Need to work on the bends of course, but its getting there. At least its not too fast for me ALL of the time.

Overall I'd say an average night.... AIC is bumming me out. The Trooper rhythm is going well. The solo is very intimidating....

Hey buddy,

Pretty impressive start with trooper, and I had to add that you did a great timing job on the stopping parts on the first verse, you didnt had no metronome not anything and tempo was lower than the original so great job there biggrin.gif Curiously you did a lot more mistakes at %50 than %75, especially on the entry part. This is not a problem, it was your first take etc, maybe it was because of a little lack of concentration due to excitement. No matter. Great Job, you have nearly finished all the rhythm parts. You have just 2 little solos, that I am sure with the help of slower playing you will nail them. Solo tablature is correct, just its because how Guitar pro handles bends. Check original tune for performing that bends right ok? All in all that was a great first take buddy, keep it up... And I agree on that Mosh \m/ laugh.gif

Ok for the AIC lesson, trust me you are going well. You may want to check out previous videos. You are playing more confidently, and Kris' bending lesson is really serving its purpose. You bends are already better. You are making errors at various spots. But at different spots each time. That shows me that these problems are there because of some lack of focus. You'll do better saturday night. I am sure of this... And one final thing, be sure to make vibratos on the long notes. A long note is an opportunity, you can make it sound better, if you dont play it with vibrato, you are actually wasting that long note mate dont forget that buddy biggrin.gif

And finally Kris' bending exercise, same problem with AIC. You played it nearly perfect at the start of the video, then you started to make errors. Try to think nothing else while you are playing that exercise. When you start to automize the playing process and start to think of your daily life, you'll loose your timing sense and eventually those little delays will make you play it with mistakes. Concentration is the key!

YEah buddy, you are going faster than ever, that is good and bad. The thing that is good is you are getting better faster and faster, the bad thing is if you stuck in something now you'll have a psychological hit, you'll feel like a loser. Do you remember the day you felt so bad, just when you started to Arpeggio Strumming exercises, and you felt like you could easily play it with 100bpm but you failed even at 50bpm. Thats the case I am talking about. So take it easy, dont try to make it harder than it is for you. Dont forget AIC exercise has the priority now because it is the old stuff. Once you nailed it we will change it to new exercise ok?

Cheers man and keep up the good work!!! laugh.gif

Can

Yep. I'm with ya.

I'm not worried. I'm committed to making it happen and getting a lot better as a player this year.

I want to help you as an instructor and the rest of the GMC community by sharing what I am feeling as I go thru this as well. For 1 main reason.

**I know I'm not alone. I know lots of players feel like I do. Frustrated at times. And not a lot of them will express or get a chance to express that to their teacher. If they are lucky enough to even have one. By opening up and sharing this and getting the feedback from you its helping more people than just you and I. Like you said, we have over 1600 views. So I know its helping. Seeing the end result of a great video is nice too. But following the journey along the way shows that anyone can do it. All you need is a good intructor, some time, and perseverance. \m/ \m/ **

Man, I have to go now, we have a gig tonight so I better get there early.

You could always check out my S.I lesson about intervals buddy. There you'll find a intervallic approach to the modes, and how to build chords... I am sure you'll find it useful. If you have questions ask me ok? I'll try to reply all of them tomorrow.

and also this is your free night isnt it? You mentioned earlier that you could have some stuff to do tonight am I correct?

Cheers buddy!

Thank you man! Dark Knight is a great movie, I wish the guy who acts as Joker was still alive, he did a great job there...

Have a good night buddy

I read thru part one of the lesson.

I totally understand that concept. I can sit down and tell you the formulas for all the modes. I do have to think about it in my head. Or write it out. But I do understand it.

I have neve rapplied it to anything though. So its just an idea on paper.

But the idea does make sense.
