Here's my take Emir..
I'm not the fastest player around, but hopefully I've got some other qualities smile.gif
If I get the time I'll try to record a second one, but we'll see..

I think it turned out ok, so I hope you and the rest of the guitaraholics like it biggrin.gif

Here is it I really think that I could have done better dry.gif

it's not so bad, really smile.gif
There're two things: first, try to record it somehow better wink.gif
And second, more important: your note over Bdim7 chord doesn't play really well...

But it's nice, try to rework it, it's enough time yet smile.gif

True - you've setup a really nice melody, and personally I prefer the melody over shredding wink.gif
It really talks very closely with a backing, good job on it smile.gif

Ok Emir, here's my take.
I used direct out from my POD X3 and thought that I was sending a completely dry signal to the DAW, but only after finishing the take, did I notice there is a very small amount of delay on the signal. This is embedded in the take. I hope this will still work.

Thanks guys, this solo gave me some headache...

Emir's comments on his instructor collab scared the hell out of me ohmy.gif laugh.gif , but motivated me even more.
I'm sound-wise not completely happy with this take (annoying delay in the middle part, which i can not remove), but i tried at least to do it the best i can, so i'm really happy that you guys like it. smile.gif

Great work so far guys. I am starting to sort the takes in the mix today. Lot of work though smile.gif

QUOTE (enforcer @ Jan 13 2009, 09:48 PM) *
Well, if I try any harder, I'm gonna loose my mind, so with its errors and unfluid sweeps and timing errors, here is my take. And also right now I am experiencing some technical difficulties with my soundcard, there are some nearly inaudible clicks and pops on the record, I dont know why but they are there...

And this is my first neoclassical try so I am kinda rookie. Here it is:

Maybe you have some resident programs in your tray eating your memory or doing some background work and disturbing your hard drive. No worries about that, I will not count it in the comment but if you do a proper session work you should always make sure you don't send stuff until is 100% polished. We still have a plenty of time for submiting the tracks. Anyway thank you for this one smile.gif

QUOTE (lcsdds @ Jan 13 2009, 10:26 PM) *
I haven't heard one take I haven't liked yet, amazing!! biggrin.gif I'm still working on mine and since it is my first one I am a little nervous about posting but I am going to force myself to do it. Even if it blows. laugh.gif Only way to improve. biggrin.gif Good job so far everybody and thanks again for doing this Emir!! smile.gif

Thank you smile.gif Take your time, still many days left

QUOTE (utak3r @ Jan 13 2009, 10:34 PM) *
Man, while working on this one, I did a great improvement... I was never been able to play my own solo over a backing track - but today it has changed! I just sat down and.... played! biggrin.gif For the first time.

Great to hear that. That's why these collaborations turn to something useful smile.gif We'll do more of these in the future and if you think it helps your playing then come back and do some more smile.gif

QUOTE (Paiva @ Jan 13 2009, 10:34 PM) *

Thanks. You don't need to play fast. Slower solos can also be very nice if structured properly.

Don't worry about that. Maybe there was some effect turned on in your software and it was exported with the track. It's going to be ok. Thanks smile.gif

Hahaha, you shouldn't worry about that mate. That was instructor collaboration and for that reason I was a bit strict. Comments for this one are not going to go that way but I will give you the honets oppinions. My point there wasn't to teach them how to play but to point out some stylistical, technical and recording issues that I thought they failed. But they are all great players. You just play the best you can and don't worry about the rest. This is not a competition. We are having fun, learning new stuff and getting some more experience smile.gif

No, no... I'd like to see more of this constructive, truthful analysis in the student collabs too! Most of the time it's too cute and nice. Comments are always "Awesome", "Great" and so on, and I don't think that's very helpful to the player...
Of course, a player like you can hear in what stage everyone is in so you can give the appropriate critique. I mean, it's not very helpful to bash someone who's been playing 1 year and tell them how bad they play and it suck big time. Everything must be in comparison with at what level each one is at the moment?
I would hope we could see more of that, and not be afraid to point out things. In a friendly manner of course. wink.gif
But I don't know, people are different, maybe some would take it very hard and feel insulted?
Anyway, you can bash ME all you want, I know I need some pointers to develop my playing. If I break down, start cry and burn the guitar up... Well, so be it, I can always start collecting stamps instead! biggrin.gif

Yes the first part is the same harmony like WMGGW smile.gif I realised that when I finished but doesn't really matter for this purpose. We can still have fun jamming.

Thanks for joining

p.s. I think that song is originaly by George Harrison

This shows why I need so much help. ohmy.gif WMGGW is on my favorites list, but I didn't pick up on that. A buddy came by while I was working on my solo last night. The first thing he said was 'that sounds like The Beatles'. mad.gif

You know, what I've recalled while reading this? This insane video lesson by Kris wink.gif "yeaaahh.... coooolll....." wink.gif

That's true, and it's the most important somewhere in the middle of the learning path... it's easy to stop developing right there... On the other side it's also important to the beginners, like me - to avoid learning some horrible habits smile.gif
