Which ever e you used in your recording laugh.gif

There aren't many E chords in my recording to be honest. My song was mainly in D Harmonic Minor. With a B as an out note in there from time to time when the E5 is played.

Well duh. I ask for tabs then not even refer to them

I was looking to put a long chord at the end of this to make a change to picking. No big deal I just had time to spare today so I was just piddling. dry.gif

That is OC and ut play an e chord and hold it for 3 whole bars. and then upload it. just the chord, no drums. Use the same tone you used in your distorted takes.

Here it is smile.gif The E5.

I really have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing. Can somebody in simple terms describe what they want me to do. I have my guitar and can do things now but I'm just wasting the time.

2#

It's

C powerchord, with the Root C going to B and back and then E5.

Then it goes G to F# and back fast, the same then but a whole step higher, back again to the G to F# and E5 At last.

Play this but on one of the stops hold the last chord for a long time like UT did so I can blend it into my pretend mix.

Other than that, your job is to start to decide where to go next with these. Pick one, two or 3 or whatever. Come Monday we will need our new direction.

Everyone be getting prepared to post your opinions on what has been posted, what you like and some ideas on how to proceed. I will ask you all to make a post about this.

Well, Our first seven days are over and I must say the participation from you guys was awesome. We had over 90 post in seven days.

I want everyone to post the direction they think we should go next.
Of the post, I like OC the best since it has so many parts to work with already. It could be made into a whole song. He has stated a key, tempo and tabs.
Next I like Crazyfrets for tone and a great feel for playing something over.

Next I like UT picking part.

The rest are pretty good but we have to start somewhere.

The file below is just UT's picking as an intro to OC's Whole riffing thing next.
I almost feel we may need to see if OC can compose the entire base song using his riff ideas and have him leave sections with just a very basic rhythm and/or drum and/or bass line for us to write over.

Now, I want to hear each members ideas and thoughts, thanks

All the above is just my suggestions, I look so forward to yours.

Ha.
I'd remodel my picking to fit this riff better. Then we should build some longer parts based on those riffs. At the first glance sounds like a good idea.

I'll think of something when I get home smile.gif

Hey. Leedbreak had a word with me about putting song together and i am happy to do that based on my riffs and try and incorporate some of your riffs. So please tab them out and i will try and find a place in song for them that fits even if it means changing key of riff. However i wont record your riff i will just put bass there and you can record it for song. I will post tab if its been key changed.

Please post a tab by tomoz night if you havent already or i will tab the riff myself if i can but please make it easier for me. I will post an update on wednesday and i will leave a spot for everybody to get involved.

hmmm... OC, I'm working with the first riff of yours - it has one problem causing incompatibility with any more complicated drum grooves - it's of 5 bars long, instead of 4.... it just takes a whole rythm scraped. I can see the last 5th bar is unneccesary, taking it away doesn't change the melody - fortunately smile.gif

That's my favourite bar of the piece biggrin.gif It'll work but you don't have to worry about that. I'm putting the whole song together ok. Bass and Guitars but I'm leaving parts with just bass for other to record their riffs over AND also there will be solo opportunities. So EVERYBODY will get a solo, MOST will have at least 1 riff included that they need to record and I will do the other bits. Also we'll need somebody to do lyrics and sing. I can do the vocals but if others want to then that is fine by me smile.gif

Don't worry you'll all be involved but I'm sorting out the overall structure of the song smile.gif I hope you understand smile.gif

Hey Guys I like it a lot biggrin.gif utak3r can you tell me the key of the first part? The Clean one I was thinking just a quick solo or just some harmonics or Harmonics to finish the song with the clean part again and maybe just maybe we can pull an Opeth kind of trick and do a small acoustic interlude just ideas tho
