Just to add as I've had some more ideas. For Genres I want to make sure all the major sections and subsections are included. Add a 10 top songs in that genre list to every one of the genres and I know some have it already as well as top ten albums. But these are just simple things. I mainly want to try and get more people involved by writing articles on different gear and getting people to offer sound clips using the device for me to add or of course me adding sound clips if I've got the equipment smile.gif

I also want to do a school of rock kind of thing with genres explaining how genres link together and how they differ and who bands in a certain genre were inspired by. So Metallica inspired by Diamond Head. So Thrash inspired by NWOBHM. And also who are inspired by Thrash smile.gif

So hopefully this encourages people who like certain genres to delve back in time and see where the music came from and see what modern music contains the genre ideas.

Some great ideas OC!
I'm just writing some Biographies at the moment and hope to be posting them over the next few days!
Then I'll start work on some Historical ones. I'm thinking 'History of the Telecaster', 'The Stratocaster', 'The Les Paul' and maybe some Manufacturers too!
Any suggestions gratefully received!!

Sounds good Jones, be sure to check the existent wiki entries, in case some of them are already there smile.gif
And remember that once you've written 5 quality articles you can qualify as a Wiki:er too.

I have checked for the Biogs to make sure I'm not duplicating any entries so hopefully I'm filling some holes!!!

Some awesome brainstorming here - this is what a wiki should be about, a fusion of lots of killer ideas!

OK, I've finished writing a Biog for Ritchie Blackmore. I have it in a Word Doc at the moment. When I get to the Edit Box in Wiki how do I make the Headlines stand out etc???
I previewed it but it didn't look like the other Wiki pages do! I've been through all the links here that tell you how to do a Wiki page and I'm sure I must be missing something somewhere!!!
I am a bit of a Luddite when it comes to these sorts of things so I need it told to me in the minutest of details!!!

To make the titles (and the automatic article index box containing them), you have to put the titles in between "=" symbols, such as these:

=Biography=
jsdjksakjkjsfjkdhskjfhkjdsfdf
dfdsfdsf
dfsdfsdfsdfdfdsfdfdsfdf
dfsdfdsf

=Discography=
jhjhsfjhgdsjhfgjhdsfjhsd
jdhsfhdsfjhsdjhfjhdsg

Etc.

You can make sub-titles in between a title by adding more "=" symbols:

=Discography=
==Live Albums==
skajhdkjsahfkdsad
sadasdsadsadasd
sdasdasdasd
sadasdasd

==Studio Albums==
sdsadasdsad
asdasdasdasd
sadsadsadsdsd

It helps a lot to wtach the code of other pages, when you see an article and you want to do the same thing in yours, click on "edit", and take a look at the code there. And just ask any doubts here in teh forum, you'll be an expert wiki:er in no time smile.gif

I'm all exited about this now tongue.gif Today might be the big day! I'm planning on putting the VST links on the Gear page in the Wiki, and Ivan wrote a big beginner lesson plan, so I could try to get that in the wiki!
